This adapter works exactly like it's supposed to. Just plug in your ethernet cable and then plug it into your thunderbolt port. It does not require any set up. It starts working with my mac immediately. My only complaint is that it is difficult to remove the ethernet cable from the adapter. You have to really use some force to remove it. So I just leave the adapter on the ethernet cable all time at home. My internet is faster when I plug in directly to the router than using wifi.

This ethernet adapter is the perfect accessory for my MacBook Air.

The Apple Thunderbolt Gigabit Ethernet adapter is great for the Apple devices with the thunderbolt ports. I like that the adapter provides a physically stable connection to the Apple device and to the cable. The network traffic speed provided to the Apple device is great as well. An essential accessory for Apple users.

i was really glad they came out with this product. I had to get one when i purchased a new MACBOOKPRORETINA. Just to have in case i needed to ever use ethernet connection again. I probably will only use the thunderbolt connections but it's nice to have all of them different types you never know.

I recently upgraded to 1 gig internet and wanted to see if i was actually getting the speeds i was paying for, Needless to say this adapter is actually 1 gig capable and i am getting my speeds.

I use this cable at work to access the shared drive in the office. The cable works great with the exception that from time to time, and for no apparent reason I will loose a folder. However, it will re appear if I unplug and replug. It definitely does the job and is work it to use my MAC at work.

This works exactly as described for when I need a wired connection. One caveat to note that isn't really related to the product is it's use when running Windows. The adapter must be plugged in prior to booting into Windows or it doesn't work.

Although I hated having to buy something that comes on most PC's, the fact that I only bought a Mac Book Air sent me in the direction to purchase this. Well worth the money, and another toy in my bag of goodies... Overall, can't complain.

I purchased this at Best Buy after reading several reviews of offbrand adapters. The offbrand adapters did not get very good reviews. The reviews for the genuine Apple adapter were very good. So far it works very well.

I am a mac newbie. Using for backups via ethernet using Time Machine on 2015 Macbook Pro under El Capitan and on same machine under Windows 10/Bootcamp. I just plugged it in and used it, no setup required.

This works as expected. No issues with the MacBook Air recognizing the connection and providing internet access. It's super fast connection allowed me to download the Intertubez onto my SSD in lighting fast speeds.

There's really not a lot to say about the adapter except of course to rave about the simple elegance of Apple's design team, and the subtle way they designed it with a plug on one end and a socket on the other ;-)

I bought this product after getting a generic adapter that did not work even after uploading the software and looking online for instructions. Purchasing this apple product was worth the extra money since it was hassle-free.

Best to get genuine Apple products as they are the most reliable. Don't worry about the connecting dropping or Mac not detecting the network adapter. Sure you can find cheaper alternatives, but save yourself the headache of dropped connections and just get something reliable.

I plugged this into my MacBook Pro and a GigE switch, and it work great. very fast connection...transfers between this MacBook Pro and other PCs connected to this switch are very fast.
