Works for Some But Not for iMac M4

Does the Job

I purchased the Apple version of the adapter as I had heard from colleagues that the off-brand versions can be unreliable. I would just as soon spend a little more up front and buy it once than replace a sub-par piece of gear down the road!

Helped stabilize my internet connection

I do alot of livestreams and uploads to youtube and my internet was always unstable for uploads. This helped with stabilizing my connection and is worth it for a macbook without an ethernet port!

Needed item for new Mac Laptop

Had and issue w wifi speed at home. Diagnostic test was to plug enet cord into my modem to test speed before wifi. Well, no enet plug, so I needed this adapter. Won't be a high use item, but when needed it works great.

Apple Thunderbolt-to-GigE Adapter

Plugs into the Thunderbolt port on my Macbook Pro and provides a Gigabit Ethernet connection. I tested the performance against built-in GigE port on my PC, and the PC was faster, but I am not sure if that was due to the higher CPU power of the PC compared to my MacBook Pro, or this adapter.
