    I've tried other brands (generic) adapters. Some have worked, but failed early. Others didn't do what I expected. This does what I needed.

    There's not much to say, it's a gigabit ethernet adapter that works with the Mac's ThunderBolt 2 port. It does what it says on the box.

    I purchased this cable along with an ethernet cable so daughter could use her MacBook Pro in her dorm room. Wifi signal was weak. Works great.

    I bought this to use on my MacBook Pro when I need to do a lot of downloading from the internet. Ethernet into the adapter and the adapter into the Thunderbolt port. That simple. A little expensive, but all Apple products are....

    So, like I said . It's Apple . It works . I've used it a couple of times , when uploading large files , cause wired works better than WiFi.

    This device allows my Macbook Pro to have an ethernet connection. It does so without needing drivers to be installed and it "just works." Very happy.

    On the road, I needed a way to physically connect my time machine to my mac for back ups.. This allowed me to connect from an ethernet to thunderbolt connection.
