    So…it’s somewhat confusing (to me) so I’m going to put it first: This is a thunderbolt2 connection for older laptops. It worked perfectly for hardwiring my son’s MacBook to ensure a solid connection for school. I didn’t want to mess with it but I’m very sure the $20 USB-A version would have worked just as well. I just didn’t feel like taking the chance.
