The best way to get gigabit lan on a macbook.

Apple needs to update documentation

This does not work on modern Thunderbolt 3 macs. The last mac that can use this in the 2013 Mac Pro which already has two ethernet connections. So, only get this is if you have an older mac with the original Thunderbolt output.
