APPLE FOR THE WIN! Never will use another!

I didn't know what I was missing my whole life! Yep - there's a price difference between AppleTv and other streaming "sticks" but the difference is night and day! Cleaner, crisper, brighter picture (even on not so great tvs) - smoother interface, flawless mobility - Apple treats you like royalty with their offerings. They have created devices that consider YOU - not filled with bloatware either! Thats definitely a plus! One of my favorite things - Apple TV "talks" to ALL OTHER APPS!!! Yes - ALL OF THEM! Unlike Fire - who doesn't talk to anyone - When you search something on Apple Tv - it will tell you where it's available...whatever app (even if you don't have it) - Fire only talks to Prime - (BOOO) When I was using Fire - I spent so much money on rentals, all to find out it was on an app I was already paying for - Because Fire didn't talk to my apps - only Prime Channel offerings - NOT ANYMORE! Thank you Apple! I can now use ONE app to find whatever I want - wherever it is! Apple talks to prime and all others. Fire talks ONLY to prime. Its a huge difference. The entire Apple Ecosystem is amazing and this no exception! The experience you get from Apple tv is worth the price, plus some!

I’ll never go back to fire stick or Roku or anything that isn’t an Apple TV. The UI is always silky smooth with no ads. Fire sticks always get bogged down with lag and ads very quickly. Apple TV just works all the time. You get top quality video and audio including atmos. It also has cool features especially if you have an iPhone. Use the iPhone as a remote easily especially if you map the remote to the action button on 15 or newer. You can even FaceTime by sending the video to the TV while using the phone’s main camera which auto tracks you as you move. Super cool!

Mandatory upgrade for aging smart/budget TVs.

If you have a slightly older smart TV or a budget tv then you know the frustration of dealing with the absolute rage inducing software that comes with those products. SLOW. UNRESPONSIVE. JUNK. And the remotes are crap too. The apple 4k Tv is here to alleviate your frustration. Plug it in to an HDMI port, and set her up. Set your picture settings on your tv to your liking and never have to use your TVs built in software again (expect for changing imputs or settings). The Home screen is as clean as you want it. Put all of apples built in apps into one folder and the rest of the home screen is what you'll actually use. Netflix, HBO , YouTube whatever. Organize them in any order you like. No annoying adds everywhere that play crap on the home screen. The software is fast. And the voice input feature works well on the remote. The remote is touch sensitive and can be used like an iPod to scroll listings fast by sliding your finger along the the outer ring of the remote. You navigate the software with swipes and clicks/taps depending on your preference. Touch input can also be disabled if you chose. Audio and be broadcasted to Bluetooth devices and to some smart speakers. (I cast the audio to my sonos era 300s and sub. Stereo only when casted) Watch some reviews on YouTube for more technical details. But I'm never using built in tv software again as long as I have an apple tv4k

    Great but needs improvement

This device has a pretty clear quality and loads the app faster than my old smart tv streaming devices. But it also comes with some bugs and some difficulties on using a few apps. Here are some of the things I like about this device. As I mentioned above, high quality performance. Also, the ability to cast my iPhone to the TV screen. I also like that I can use my iPhone as a keyboard to type on the screen specially when I download app that requires user ID and password. Keeps my password private. One thing I don’t like it is that the remote doesn’t have a home button so I have keep pressing the back arrow to go back to the Home Screen. Other option is pressing the Apple TV icon on the remote then press the back button. Other thing that I think they need to improve is adding the ability to create a playlist on iMusic app on this device. Overall, I recommend this device and if improvements are made, it will be great.

Its simple really, once you try the apple TV, you'll never go back to another streaming deivice, ive tried them all and the apple TV blows all of them away. Lightning fast (can be Ethernet hard wired for even better connection), easy to navigate and the remote is excellent. Picture and sound quality is spectacular. Spend the extra $20 and get the 128 gb version, will never have to worry about memory. This is a must buy

I bought this for my parents based on my own experiences and they are slowly warming up to it. The tvOS is a simple yet elegant experience. Due to the nature of the platform it's my belief that streaming providers have no choice to build in a very standardized way. As a result many of the apps (certainly the big ones) function and are laid out in similar ways. No more trying to remember exactly how one app works versus another. Or at least not as much. From a cost perspective these things are expensive, maybe even unreasonably so. However, I previously used Fire TV Sticks and found myself replacing them annually due to critical issues or poor performance. I purchased the one I am reviewing for my parents but I have my own that I've owned for a few years each and both have stood the test of time. I don't even have to restart them weekly or daily like the Fire TVs to keep them snappy. The integration with the Apple ecosystem is of course first class and if you do Fitness+ workouts and have a watch those classes are never better than when I can watch them on my living room TV. In tvOS 17 you can now use your phone to find your remote if you misplace it which is handy.

    Best Streaming Device

This little box completely upgraded my TV experience! The A15 Bionic chip makes everything incredibly smooth – apps launch instantly and 4K HDR content looks stunning. I love how seamlessly it integrates with my other Apple devices (AirPods auto-switch is magic). The new Siri Remote feels just right, with a clickpad that’s precise but not fussy. Gaming performance is surprisingly good for casual titles via Apple Arcade. My only complaint? The price is steep compared to basic streaming sticks – but the premium performance and clean, ad-free interface make it worth every penny for Apple.

The Apple TV is great it is fast and very fluid to use. Allows seamless integration into my Apple ecosystem. I’m able to use my AirPods to watch TV without waking the rest of the house as I work nights so when I’m off I’m awake while they sleep.

I never saw the point of AppleTV until I bought it after reading how smooth its user interface is and how it allows for some of the better picture quality with streaming/dolby Atmos. I enjoy being able to use my phone as a remote and love the upscaling it does with certain programs and streaming services. I even watch directv on it and have no issues with picture quality and use this way more than my TV’s own software.

Didn’t think an upgrade was needed from my original Apple TV 4K but the performance of this one is awesome and the remote took some getting used too, but overall I like it more than the original - feels more solid and comfortable. The picture is of course perfect feeding into my 4K OLED. tvOS should be the standard for home entertainment - great way to consume content.

I’m really impressed with the Apple TV 4K. My Roku had been lagging a lot, and with this I can completely bypass that clunky software. It honestly feels like I have a brand new TV. The interface is super smooth and fluid, and casting music is seamless, which is perfect since I recently switched from Spotify to Apple Music. Totally worth it.

The “Fire” has been put out by the “Big Apple”

Full disclosure I have been on the “Fire” bandwagon for years. For the longest time they have been a great bang for your buck. But over the last couple of years they have weighed down their devices with bloat-ware and with their most recent updates, ads. As a result it has made their devices buggy and almost unusable at points. So I finally decided to make the switch to the “Big Apple” and here is what I can say. It just works. Video quality is on point and so is the audio quality. I launched an app and almost fell over how fast it loaded. Honestly if you are looking for device recommendation order as of today it would go “Big Apple” then the simple yet efficient Roku and finally the “Fire” world. Maybe if “Fire” can remove the junk it can be great again, but I am not holding my breath.

    Best option for streaming 4k

I’ve now purchased the Apple TV 4K for all 3 of my TV’s. I started with one for my main TV and loved it. I had held off from buying one because I thought it would be similar to the TV’s built-in apps; I was so wrong! These are so much more responsive than even my newest Samsung TV(2023 model), no ads to deal with, and streams 4k without the buffering and downgraded video I was so used to seeing when using my TV’s apps. Well worth the price. Also I enjoy the remote as it feels solid vs the plastic ones you get with the TV. It has one feature that I didn’t appreciate, letting you scroll by sweeping your finger across the center touch pad. It didn’t take me long to look in the settings and found it could be easily disabled.

I got a few Apple TVs. The Apple TV 4K 128GB is great. The processor speed and memory is way better than the smart TVs and provides higher quality video. My Samsung Smart failed to provide a good processor, storage, memory and caused my apps to fail. Samsung is loaded down with junk apps and ads. Now I formatted the Samsung smart TV to make it a dumb 4K TV with the much better Apple TV connected. I enjoy the games available with a PS5 controller on Apple Arcade. The FaceTime video works well. Something I wasn’t expecting was that I able to program the soundbar to the volume buttons and the theater projector power button to the remote mute button. Now I just need the one well designed remote to control the main functions of my theater room. There are many other great features as well with the HomeKit, Airplay, and much more. Great price for a great Apple product.

I have a newer Sony OLED smart tv which was overall pretty good until it started having wifi issues almost everyday so I knew I wanted to try something wide. I had a fire tv stick but this is 1000xs better the Apple TV is so fast! I love that I can multitask and switch between different tv apps quickly. Sometimes I'm watching my shows until my husband is ready to watch our shows together. I can have the other show paused already and quickly and easily switch between apps. It's easier to airplay on the Apple TV too. I like that I can watch something on my iPad pause it and continue it on the TV without air playing it. Some apps can do Picture-in-Picture if you want to watch something as you browse but that can be annoying to exit so I rarely use that. The Apple TV actually upscales my HD shows and movies too! I don't use my tvs interface anymore I just turn on the Apple TV And it switched the input automatically. I love that I can use my phone or iPad as a remote and tell Siri to pause, play or turn on the tv (that feature never worked with Alexa). I love the search function to it will search all of your movies and shows on different apps. The Apple TV app is nice too since of you connect Hulu and Max for example it will display all of this continue watching episodes in your list. You can find your continue watching from the Home Screen if you change the settings to be that way. The top row of apps show your recent shows when you hover over the apps. I love the enhance dialogue option, reduce loud sounds and auto captions if you rewind something. Overall I'm really happy I decided to try this out. I thought I would probably return this since it was a lot of money for something like a firestick but I was WRONG! This is an upgrade from my slow TV. My only gripe is my surround sound isn't as loud or full sounding as when I watch things from my the apps on my smartTV. But the benefits are better than the bad. Oh and the touchpad can be customizable I like mine on slow since it's very sensitive or you can turn the touchpad off.
