I needed to connect ipad to a musical keyboard via 3.5mm and this cable works as expected. I feel the cable is too thin though and might snap if even mild force is used.

Unfortunately, you need these adapters because Apple was forced to change their plugs on the new phones. Your old headphones, etc won’t work without this adapter.

Simple cord to use headphones on newer Samsung phones. Only complaint is I miss the old 3.5mm headphones jack phones had. It's not like the sound is better with the new jacks. It's also a pain because you can only charge your phone OR listen with headphones. Can't do both at once.

Works fine. Expensive as all of Apple products, but hopefully it will last.

If you want to use wired headphones with your new aplle device, this is a must
