It's been reliable and worked fine. The wires are thin, so it could be fragile, but my experience with cheaper non-Apple adapters has been poor even if they look stronger.

USB-C to 3.5mm Headphone Jack

This is not only for Apple iPhones. One end connects to the USB-C on my phone and a 3.5mm headphone jack plugs into the other end. This worked perfectly, was cheap and just a short extension (3 inches).
