The new MacBook Pro uses the new USB-C, so you will need an adapter if you still have things that uses USB to connect. You will need the Apple - USB-C-to-USB Adapter for a USB connection.

This is very handy to have when you need to save or retrieve files on a flash drive when using a macbook. It's very easy to connect this c-port to your macbook.

Much needed USB adapter for newer model MacBooks that only provide USB – C connector

Bought a new iMac with only USB-C. I got two of these, and they work great to connect all my old USB hard drives and printers.

The USB-C to USB Adapter allows me to connect to my previous Apple accessories from my older MacBook Air. Don't have to miss a beat and continue rocking the Apple world!

I don't mind dongles for the MacBook as there are few you will actually need. This dongle, however, is one that you definitely need to keep on-hand. Not an expensive item at all.

Unfortunately this is a necessary evil for the new MacBook Pros. I suggest buying two for travel and a USB C dock with and ethernet port and HDMI port for home and work.

Since Apple is changing sizes, this adapter works perfectly.

This is still new for me as I just upgraded to the newest MacBook. They took everything out so you have to buy them all separately and you will need this adapter to connect everything.
