A: Short answer is yes. The cable provides a USB 3.0 connection. However, your Seagate 320GB needs to be formatted as FAT or exFAT for the Mac to recognize the hard drive. It you are coming from a PC, the hard drive is probably formatted as NTFS. Apple doesn't recognize NTFS formatted hard drives. You would need to copy the contents of your Seagate 320 GB to another location on your PC, re-format the Seagate 320 GB as exFAT and then copy the contents back to your Seagate 320 GB hard drive. The good part is once your hard drive is formatted as exFAT you will be able to use it between a PC and Mac to copy files. The bad part is you have to re-format your Seagate 320 GB hard drive.     Reliable Apple USB-C Adapter for Simple, Portable

    As a digital artist, I often need to connect various cables between my tablet and computer. This adapter, being an official Apple product, offers great compatibility and is very easy to use. I like using a larger adapter at home, but when I’m working outdoors or drawing in another location, this one is lightweight and convenient to carry. The trade-off for its portability is that it only supports a single USB-C to USB connection, so if you need HDMI or additional ports, it may not be sufficient.

    Great product

    I just purchased a new iMac which has new ports (USB-C) on the back of the computer which are different from my last Mac which had USB. I needed this Apple Adapter so I could still use my USB devices like the Apple USB SuperDrive I used on my last Mac. This adapter makes it possible for me to use my heated eye mask for a few minutes each evening to give my eyes a rest. Very easy to connect to the computer and then to connect your USB item. You'll want to get this adapter is you still have USB devices you want to use.

    Perfect and Required

    This item works perfectly and I couldn't really ask for more than a lower price. This is an Apple product so it comes at a premium, of course, but it's also useful and a required accessory if you have any previous electronics or computer accessories. If you are starting out new you can buy external and flash drives that are built for Thunderbolt 3 but if you have any existing drives or even an iPhone that isn't brand new you'll need this cable or a hub. This product deserves 5 stars but because it isn't cheap and is required I have to remove 1 star. If it were cheaper or something that wasn't required it would get 5 stars all day long. I opted to purchase a hub and this cable for a bit of versatility when connecting my devices. This cable works great when quickly connecting my phone or a flash drive on the go. Perfect and required for every MacBook laptop bag!
