Not much to say here, but it works exactly as expected. Designed well, solid build, and meets USB 3.1 spec. Only thing is, while this is small and neat for throwing in your laptop bag, it's only one USB-A port. If you want more connections, look into a hub or a dock, especially a powered one if you want the high performance.

Until a USB-C flash drive is the norm this adapter is a necessity. Small and reliable and a must have.

I've been using one of my USB ports on back of my iMac to back up my data to my external hard drive and to burn DVDs with my external (USB) DVD burner, until I learned that using Thunderbolt port has more power. Using the USB-C also enables me to free up one of the USB ports for low demand items, like my old Tactile Pro clicky keyboard.

This is a must have for the new Macs, but why? Apple appears to love making its customers purchase new cords every several years and apparently it's that time again. The adapter is well made, but I prefer the MagSafe power cords myself.

I have purchased other brand USB-C to USB-A adapters, but only the Apple and Microsoft branded ones seem to be consistently reliable. Others seem to lose their connection from time to time, whcih is bad if you are using it fr an external storage device. BestBuy delivers these super fast with free shipping, and the price is the same as elsewhere, so it's a good place to buy one.

I bought a new laptop and new iMac computer, but all my external hard drives, and other peripherals use standard USB. Don't get caught without it if your new computer only accepts USB-C . . . you will inevitably need one of these.

I am not old and am in my mid 20's, but I have a lot of things that work off of a standard USB plug that we have been used to having for a while now. I still like using the old USB plug and all my items I have that use it, but with the new Macbook pro I have it only has USB-C ports. Most computers are going to the new USB ports so I recommend this for most people these days. It works really well, don't even notice that you are using the older USB connection. I imagine it would work with all of the new USB-C ports, even on non apple devices, but I have only used it with my macbook pro so I can't say that from experience.
