This dongle is essential for your Macbook, at least until everything else catches up and starts using USB C. Been mostly using it to connect my iPhone charger and USB drives, but works for wired external mice and keyboards too.

If you’re planning to buy a new MacBook Pro or MacBook Air, make sure you set aside a considerable amount of cash for the adapters you need. Apple doesn’t include any in the box, except for a power adapter.

I got this adapter to use with My Passport- external hard drive for my MacBook Pro on the advice of Best Buy clerk. I can also use it for any other devices like a DVD writer.

I really hate now every time you upgrade your laptop Apple removes something that then you need to buy an adapter for. However this does the job for connecting a usb to a new MacBook.

It was the only cable that I saw and it works really well. I needed it for an old mac book pro to a new mac book air transfer of data.

It does exactly what it needs to do. Lets you use a USB port on your USB C computer when you need it.

Sucks that you need an adapter for pretty much everything, but it’s fast and works well

This is the only way to go you can hook up a device, charge at the same time. If you only get the charger you must wait. This way you can do more things at once. It is well worth the money. It gives you all the flexibility you want and need.

The Apple adapter is necessary if you want to connect any older USB item to the new MacBook Pro. I also bought a third party hub, but it doesn't work well with my old headset - the Apple adapter works every time.

Always good to have options around the house with all the gadgets around the house.

This is a dongle that converts USB-C To Normal USB. I can now hook up all of my other peripherals that have standard USB cables. Next I will have to buy the Thunderbolt 3 to FireWire Adapter because I bought a 2016 Macbook Pro 15" and it only has USB-C ports that are compatible with only USB Type C and Thunderbolt 3. Only 4 stars because I am so angry at apple for not including USB Type A in the new MBP

For charging, for connect the 2.0 USB from Wacom tablet's connection to IMAC. Good choices.

Very important to have especially since you most likely have an iPhone and will need this special adapter to convert it to a USB connector so you can connect your lighting charger for the iPhone, etc

Good to have the ability to go from Apple device to standard USB. Able to keep b/u copies of photos & documents with out having to rely on the cloud.

I needed an adapter to connect my iPhone and other peripherals. This dongle seem to accomplish what i was after. You'll still need your iPhones' cable that is used to charge phone normally to be able to connect to this adapter.

It's a must have, I am using this to connect my external hard drive to transfer all my document and pictures from my PC to my MacBook Air. Couldn't be happier!

This works great ! I needed the connector for my cricut maker to my apple laptop as apple does not have usb porta on the laptop I have. Works great !

With the new Mac air this was necessary in order to use my external DVD player. I leave it attached to the DVD player so I don’t lose it. That’s the only thing I worry about it - losing it.
