after buying an apple computer I realized I needed another item to use a USB cord. So there I went back to Best Buy to spend another 10.99. It works just fine.

I bought a new MacBook Pro 15" and just wanted to plug my iPhone to it to back up the data. I then realized that with all my existing iPhone/iPad adapters and chargers, I still need another adapter since my MacBook Pro only has USB-C type ports and my other Apple devices work with the original USB-A type. This adapter does the trick. Originally, i thought I had bought the wrong one as the USB end of it was very snug and it felt like it would not go in. I did not want to force it and risk damaging it. Once I got confirmation that it was the correct adapter, it works fine, just needed a firm push

Great adapter if you need to have usb. You can also grab the multi port at around 70 bucks! So this may be a good start for many people.

If you want to charge your iphone on your MacBook, you need this adapter. The new MacBook doesn't have USB ports. Shame on your Apple

Ive used this to sync up my new iPhone 8 plus to the mac to get my music on to my phone and it worked perfectly. Also used it to run a time machine backup

Works great! No issues. No overheating, all of my USB attachments fits perfectly into the adapter.

What can I really say? It's a USB-c adapter. It works. More reliable and consistent than some of the cheaper off-brand ones I own. It's a little big, but that seems to be a theme with Apple adapters. Overall, a necessary evil as Apple transitions to this admittedly better connectivity standard.

This item is needed for standard usb devices. Downside is it’s another piece you equipment needed as you really won’t leave it plugged in all the time.

This adapter is definitely needed with the new MacBooks. It makes using anything with a USB possible since the new Macs only come with USB-C ports

New Mac books don't have USB drives, they only have c connectors. So if you want to use jump drive or anything the adapter is a must.

I purchased this along with me ATV4 in order to download some extra content because the cord was not included with the A-TV. It does exactly what you need it to do!
