Cool watch .. nothing special ... wait for the next one

I had to wait two more weeks after the arival date

This was a Christmas gift for my wife. She loves it.

Great watch glad I got it...great cool on my wrist

I originally got this watch while I was still working when I became really sick and it was important to answer the phone immediately when my doctor called and I had to do some filing in another room from where my phone is, but it was still close enough where I could get the call on my apple watch. I figured it was more discrete and looked better than carrying my phone around with me everywhere so it didn't look like I was just expecting personal phone calls and not taking my work seriously. I since got so sick I ended up losing that job and having to apply for disability, but I recently was diagnosed with POTS, which has to do with having your heartbeat raise too high too quick at times, and discovered an application that you can add to the front face of the apple watch to keep track of that. It's very practical in my case and helps a lot. I wear it every day from when I wake up to when I go to bed to keep up with that because I had a problem with my heartbeat speeding up so much and at the same time my blood pressure going so low, I kept fainting. So this app that shows up on the face of my watch really helps me out. Although not as serious, I also enjoy that it shows me the weather outside that I have set for my hometown on the watch, how much battery is left, the time, and the month and day of the year and week (which is very hard to keep up with when you aren't working) on it, as well as any appointments that I might have on my calendar for that day, which is very practical with the amount of doctors appointments I have each month.

I’m a junior in college who does a lot of walking on a day-to-day basis and I was interested in buying a fitness tracker to see my daily routine. Other then walking to my classes I do not do any extra physical activity, so I contemplated on getting an Apple Watch for a month or so because I was unsure if it was “worth it”. I went to Best Buy a few times to look at the watches and I had one employee tell me he had bought one and returned it because it is fit for a specific person. My main focus was on the Apple Watch because I use all Apple products so I thought it would be simpler to have all my devices continue to be Apple. After about a month of thinking I decided to buy the Series 1 38mm Gold Aluminum Casing Apple Watch. Overall I’m very happy with my watch and I do agree it is fit for a specific person but other people can find uses in the watch as well. The watch seemed to be built for a work out fanatic, but I am a fairly lazy person and I still find use for this watch everyday. IPhone Pairing: Easy as 123. You connect it to your phone and you are ready to go. It does not take long just a few minutes for the to actually connect but then once they connect you set the Watch up from you phone. You can change the faces of the watch and other settings on your phone, which is cleaver and simple to do. Screen Size: I went with the 38mm because I have fairly small wrists and I was concerned the 42mm would be large on me. I do like the size on my wrist but I wish I had a larger screen. For this scenario the question is are you going for a better fashion look or more convenient. Battery: The battery life for me is the worst part of it. Not only does it run out of battery quickly but it also drains your phone battery quickly. In order for you to use the watch and receive notifications you need to use Bluetooth. I charge my phone probably 2 times a day to keep up with the battery drainage. Notifications: Someone once told me this is pretty much just a notification device and that’s all its good for. I do not disagree but it does more then just notifies you. It will vibrate or ding whenever a notification is sent to your phone but it will now go to your watch first. You can read bits of e-mails but not the whole thing. You can see when you get a notification but you can’t do anything directly with it on your watch. Text Messages: I was led to believe you could not text on the watch and you could only click on prewritten messages such as “Ok” “On My Way” but then I discovered the scribble feature. You can “text” back but you must write out each letter of each word in which you hope to text back. I’m a young adult with small fingers so this scribble feature is quick and easy for me to use. Directions: I use GPS daily and this watch makes GPS easier then it already was. Once you put the directions in your phone the watch will use those directions and will vibrate 12 times for you to turn right and vibrate 12 times in increments of 2 when you need to turn left. This allows you to use less technology while driving. Workouts: I do not work out often but when I do having this device keep track of it all and keeping you updated makes your work out seem that much more successful. I do enjoy that you can set your own achievements you hope to reach. For someone who does not work out in a gym but walks to class or stands at work it keeps track of your everyday activities along with your workouts. It covers your whole day from morning to night. Band Size: Having very small wrists I was concerned with not having a band that would fit my wrist and it would just be loose and falling off all day. Apple was smart and provided each watch with a small size and a medium size band for wrists of all sizes. Overall I’m very pleased with my Apple Watch and I would easily recommend others to buy it. More people can benefit from this watch then others but everyone can find a use for it.

I am a 62 year old grandma that has spent the last 20 years reveling in technology. So of course, I was very intrigued by this watch and finally took the plunge and purchased this model. I love the color and I think it is a fine looking piece of jewelry. Love so much about this watch - the activity tracker truly motivates me, reminding me to move more; the heart rate monitor is great, as I have heart disease and my heart rate can vary so; love how it works with my IPhone, calls and messages, Facebook and messenger alerts. I can leave the phone in my pocket on my walks and even control my music from my watch. It seems like I keep finding more and more things it is capable of. After only two weeks, I would hate to be without this watch.

It's the most perfect smart watch a person can wear. VERY elegant, VERY smart and basically can do almost everything for you. I go to the gym everyday, so it records every single step and move there and gives me a summary and rewards every time I achieve some goals! Whether you go to the gym or not, it WILL MAKE YOU MOVE because you always want to fill that circle! You also reply to your texts, and do much much more with such a classy watch on your wrist. I would recommend it to anyone!

I just got this Apple Watch and I have no idea how I even lived without it. Makes life so much easier and the black is sleek and matches with practically everything. Just because it’s series 1, doesn’t mean anything works flawlesses. Amazing price!!

With Best Buy having a fire-sale on the Gen-1 Apple Watch, the price is unbeatable. Open box, even better!. Sure, it's the original version but the differences between Gen-1 and Series 1 are negligible. After testing side-by-side, they load and operate the exact same. It is after all, a watch and is not yet meant to replace your phone. If you're looking for the Apple Watch and not wanting to spend the extra $100+ for the newer versions and don't need waterproof, this is the perfect every-day watch.

Happy I got this version of this Watch. Series 1 is a great balance of price to performance. Much better performance over the first generation without the added cost of the Watch series 2 which is similar but offers extra water resistance. Happy I went with the 38mm version versus the 42mm one. I felt the 42mm was to big when I had the first generation one.

I am enjoying the ease and functionality of the Apple Watch Series 1. I don't care for the band (silicone), but it is easily replaceable. Sad to say the Geek Squad phone rep wasn't very helpful in getting me a protection plan for the watch, but I will go to the local store. Most of the apps are easy to use and so far, so good!

I received this Apple Watch for Valentine's day 2 days ago... it the best watch ever ! I love it! It's been motivating me to go to my boot camp xtreme cardio classes! It does the important things like health monitoring , calls and texting. I have the 6s plus so it gets annoying having pull out my phone every time ! Thank you Apple for another amazing gadget !

Got this for my girlfriend in Rose Gold. She enjoys it and uses it at work while her phone is charging. Only thing is she got a new phone and had to reset the watch to pair with it. Otherwise it is being used daily and the battery life is better than expected.

I really like this Watch I only use it to track my workouts and my activity during the day so I'll have it disconnected from my phone until I update my progress.... the only thing I don't like is the battery life ...for me to not use all the other features like emails.... phone calls ... texting ... other Apple Watch apps ...& notifications I should have great battery life but that's not the case !!! Overall that's my only complaint is battery life but hey it is a smart watch

I love Apple products and the watch itself is good. It's the lack of convenient features offered by Apple. I can not use my watch with out my phone with in relatively close distance. For example: I can not leave my phone in the gym locker and go work out with out my watch disconnecting from my phone. We went out to dinner, I went to the bar to order drinks for everyone while leaving my phone at the table, someone changed their drink order but I didn't get the text bc my watch disconnected. If I forget to start the work out app, my watch doesn't recognize that I've done anything. My biggest complaint is my son likes to play games on my phone and I can not recieve text messages or notification alerts when the phone is in use. I've missed important text messages because of this. I've had my watch since February 2017 and I feel like I got more use out of my Fitbit and the Map My Run app on my phone. My husband has the Samsung Gear Frontier watch and he can do ALL of these things and more for the exact same price as the Apple Watch. IF/When Apple adds the feature of being able to recieve notifications on the watch while the phone is in use then I'd change my review but at this point, it's not worth the $400.
