I have had my apple watch for over a year now and feel that I should do a review so here goes: If you’re looking for a general/average smartwatch, then yes, the Apple Watch is it!! I would put it up to any of the other general smart watches out there. Once you add the sport and fitness to it, you kinda have to discard the Apple Watch if you want accuracy and reliability especially in distance and heart rate. I have no doubt with these second generation Apple Watches they will address these two issues. I am a fitness person and have another watch ( Garmin Vivoactive) that I am using for comparison. The Pros of the Apple Watch: -The display is bright in low and high light situation, visually awesome -Super easy to use for a beginner -The watch faces seems to be very durable, I never take this thing off unless it is bedtime. I use it roughly through multiple crossfit workouts, wood working projects, lawncare and trailing running to name a few. -I love the fact that I can view text and e-mails right on my wrist as I move throughout my workspace or at home throughout the house. Not only can you view them but you can reply with a quick preset phrase or emoji or you can simply talk to text into. The greatest thing ever!! -The watch faces are easily set and configured to your liking -There are a ton of apps and games you can download to make it more customizable to your liking. One of my favorites is the ESPN app where i can quickly view the scores of my favorite teams. -Activity tracker concept with the rings are neat but the accuracy is left to be desired. The Cons: -The battery life sucks. I usually get a day and half out of it. I usually just charge it when I go to bed. It took some time getting used to this because in all my years in the Army I always wore a watch 24/7. -There is no sleep tracker and if there was you would have to charge this bad boy at some point during the day when you actually would be using it! -The price tag for what you get is high and I know that Apple products are historically higher than other brands but in the case of the Apple Watch (the first version) it is not worth the extra money in my opinion. -As I noted I love fitness and the apple watch has not dazzled me as there is no stand-alone GPS and the accelerometer is not that accurate. -the watch is not waterproof as stated by Apple. In my opinion I have not had any issues and I shower every day with it on and swam in the ocean on vacation and the pool several times with negative effects. So, I think Apple may have underestimated themselves on this point. In closing this is a great watch with a HIGH price tag that is solid but just missing a few things in the fitness realm. I think that with a few more generations it will be right where it should!

I got an Apple Watch was for fitness purposes and I’m LOVING it! I have an office job so I love how the Watch reminds me to get up and move around for a few moments. The Breathe app also reminds me to take a moment to myself when I get stressed out - love it! I was concerned about the ease of use with the apps but they happen to be very user friendly. I thought I would start off with the first generation just to get my feet wet with the technology but I’m already thinking about upgrading. Great buy!

I love this watch. It's comfortable, functiional and versatile with many outfits. I love the larger face, definitely not too large for woman and not masculine looking at all. The gold and navy is a very nice looking combo!
