I've had a smart watch before, and quite frankly, it wasn't all that smart. Constantly annoying me with irrelevant information. Having owned iPhones for years now, when the first Apple watch came out I was definitely intrigued. Then the second generation came out with more features and I paid closer attention. Well now that the Series 3 is out with GPS (the version I purchased) I couldn't be happier. It's a nice slick interface, just like you are used to with Apple. The watch faces are clear, and interesting, and incredibly customizable. I like the fact that it tracks indicators of heartbeat, distances, flights of stairs etc, without you even having to do anything to the watch. It's just doing it all in the background, so it's not obtrusive. You get reminders to breathe or stand up every now and again, but you can turn those off if necessary. Connecting your phone to Apple CarPlay, the navigation also shows up on your watch, and it vibrates when you are coming up to your next intersection or direction change which is pretty neat. Overall, I'm really happy with the watch, I mean it shows the time, just like you'd like a watch to, but it also shows notifications from my smart home, if cameras have been triggered etc (all via a connected phone) I didn't go with the cellar version. Emails show up nicely on there, as do attachments and pictures. A neat feature I didn't know the watches incorporated is the ability to talk and hear phone calls through it, very 'Star Trek'! Only consideration I have is to not club the watch off of walls or desks etc, being as it's an expensive piece of kit!

I recently acquired the Apple Watch Series 3 GPS with a 42mm Space Gray Aluminum Case and Black Sport Band, and it has exceeded my expectations in both form and function. Despite being an older model, the Series 3 continues to impress with its timeless design and reliable performance. The Space Gray aluminum case gives it a sleek and modern look, while the Black Sport Band ensures a comfortable fit for all-day wear. The watch seamlessly integrates into my daily routine, tracking my activity, providing notifications, and even acting as a convenient extension of my iPhone. Its water resistance and durable build make it suitable for various activities. Considering the unbeatable value, the Apple Watch Series 3 remains a solid choice for those seeking a budget-friendly yet feature-rich smartwatch experience. Whether you're a first-time smartwatch user or upgrading from an earlier model, the Series 3 delivers a compelling package of style and functionality.

Looks - yep, Apps - yep, Accuracy - not so much

TL;DR Having worn Fitbits for the past 4 years - I track heart rates closely due to having heart failure - I can say I recommend the Apple Watch due to its versatility. Definitely not its accuracy. The positives are available apps, water resistance, longer battery life than the first watches, and let's face it, a Mickey Mouse watch face. The main negatives are relative short battery life (2 days versus 4-5 days with a lesser Fitbit), and inaccuracy in exercise. Since I got the Apple Watch some 40 days ago, I've been wearing both my Charge 2 & it all the time for comparisons. Heartrate wise, they seem fairly identical.Steps however, were way off at first on the Apple. It always lags the Fitbit but at first it could be 1000s off. Plus, if you told Apple you were doing an outside walk and then did one for 15 minutes, it might only credit you with 2 minutes. Turns out there is a calibration step you can do on the Apple to get both issues more accurate. You'd think Apple would tell people about it at the beginning, but you'd be wrong. But even with calibration it still insists on evaluating exercise not just accepting your choice of exercise. In terms of exercise (however defined) the Watch severely lags the Charge 2. So get it for looks, apps, etc. Carefully Google the exercise part and be aware it may never be all that accurate in comparison to others.

When the first apple watch came out I was intrigued. I like tech stuff, (my wife does not), but the battery life (daily charging) and expense just seemed unreasonable. With this 3rd edition, I finally broke down and bought a watch for my wife and myself. I love it! The watch battery easily lasts a full day (I usually have a 40-50% charge left at the end of the day). It is very easy to use and has been a real motivator in the fitness area. I enjoy getting notifications from several of my apps (news, email, messages, etc) and am quickly learning the real benefits of this amazing watch. Thank you Apple!

This version of the watch should have been the first one. Battery life is livable since I charge it every night anyway, but now I can workout, run and survive the rest of the day without needing to put it on a charger. This is a vast improvement over the series 1 I had. Not sure it's worth the extra money to buy the cellular version, in addition to the additional cost for nothing the cellular provider charges, but that is a personal choice. I kind of like being disconnected from interruptions when running, working out or being away from my phone so no biggie for this person. The next big issue is to extend battery life where you don't have to charge it everyday, that hopefully will come in the next hardware update. I hope..

Love apple watch but it's limited in functionality

I purchased my Apple Watch in Oct 2017 and have worn it day and night since day 1. The most significant improvement over my first-gen Apple Watch is better battery life. Where the first-gen would roughly last from full charge in the morning till 6-7pm, this Watch3 now easily lasts me 2.5 to 3 days. The battery does deplete faster during intense activities like long-distance running unless you turned off gps and heart rate monitor. After 6 months of owning, I only use below features and apps, as the rest of the first and third-party apps are super limited in functionality: - Watch faces (of course!) - Notifications from iPhone apps - Workout app to track my exercise and group classes - Sleep tracker app And that's it! Honestly fitness tracking is the only big long-term use case I see for this watch. Which is the one single feature that has kept me from selling it on craigslist. So if a friend or loved one asked me, here's how I would word my recommendation... It is a great way to track your fitness and see iPhone notifications on your wrist. You may find a few apps that enhance the watch functionality but it may or may not keep your attention in the long run. With that said, if in six months you are regretting your purchase, you can always sell it on ebay or craigslist and get decent chunk of purchase price back as Apple products tend to hold their value well.

I’ve had my Apple Watch series 3 GPS for about 3 weeks now. Having notifications a on my watch, and options for different watch faces has been great. There is definitely more for me to learn and appreciate, but this is a big update from my Fitbit. The only negative is that Fitbit doesn’t accept steps from Apple, just activities and that is through another app. You can’t participate in any step challenges with anyone using a Fitbit. That wasn’t a big issue for me, and I appreciate the notifications from the Apple Watch more than the Fitbit step counting. Steps are available on the Apple Watch through the Health App on your iPhone or the Activity tracking on your Apple Watch.

Added GPS, battery life & waterproof compared to series 1 Watch. I Love it. The battery life and speed connecting to phone functions is a HUGE improvement, so if you’re looking to upgrade from a Series 1 I recommend it. If you’ve got a series 2 I don’t think it’s worth the change. I wish carriers weren’t being ridiculous about data plans for the Watch; is have gotten the LTE model of not for that part of it.

This is my first Apple Watch so I can’t comment on the series 3 vs the Previous generations, but build quality is fantastic as usual from Apple. They definitely know how to build a premium feeling product. The watch is a breeze to use and very responsive with very little lag between apps. Siri is very responsive and accurate when using to text it’s almost as good as my iPhone 7. Call quality is rather surprising from such a small speaker. While not the loudest it is very clear on both ends of the call and is a joy to use and very handy. Texting can be a bit cumbersome at first using the scribble feature, but after a while it’s pretty fun and very accurate. Being able to customize from the watch app on your phone is a great feature with so many options to make it yours. I have to say this is an excellent extension to your iPhone and makes daily tasks a lot easier. I have it paired with my AirPods and together in the gym it doesn’t get much better. Very satisfied and would highly recommend.

I was skeptical of smartwatches in general for a while now, but I have to say I'm impressed. Having the ability to glance at notifications and decide how to deal with them is a more pleasant experience then having to pull your phone out every time it buzzes. I generally keep my phone in a backpack when I'm on campus, so being able to just leave it in there and practically forget about it is great. Even just walking downstairs for a bit, i don't have to remember to grab my phone off my desk. It's definitely a convenience purchase, but I like it. The band it came with is comfortable for me, but I may try another one after a while. I've been a watch guy all my life, and I was afraid this would feel bulky or uncomfortable because of how thick it is. Honestly It's lighter than my analog watch, and the thickness is not noticeable in the slightest. I got used to wearing it minutes after putting it on. Your results may vary but if you're already used to wearing a watch you shouldn't have a problem here. I highly recommend this product as a luxury purchase. While it does not add very much utility, it adds an extra layer of convenience into the iPhone lifestyle, and if you have the money, I'd say it's worth it.

When the Apple Watch was introduced so many years ago I laughed and thought I had no use for one. Fastforward to now and I was in the market for a fitness tracker device. After looking at the other things on the market, I decided to go with the Apple Watch. The price was good and it would pair nicely with my phone and computer. It turns out the watch is awesome and it looks great too. From heart rate to workout tracking and then having competitions with my wife. It is great. Not to mention the text messages and other notifications popping up on my wrist. I'm not sure how I functioned without it.

Comparing to my first generation Apple Watch, the Series 3 (non-cellular) offers the following: - Much better battery life: I used to finish a typical day with about 30-40% battery remaining with the original Apple Watch. With Series 3, I often have 70-80% battery left. In fact, with heavy usage, I've never dipped below 40%. - Faster apps: The apps are now much more usable. I used to wait several seconds for the Home app to launch in order to control my wifi lights. Now the app loads immediately, and the lights are off within a couple seconds. - Better Siri: Siri responds quicker and more accurately, providing verbal responses instead of having to look at the screen. Overall, if you have a first generation Apple Watch, the Series 3 is an easy recommended upgrade. I never expected to love the original Apple Watch, but I do. It's probably the most comfortable watch I've ever owned with so much more functionality than any non-smartwatch.

Bought to interface with my iPhone 8 to work with Arccos golf app which works very well. Getting used to having a watch that tells you what to do - get up, move, breathe... tornado watch, your bpm is 55 etc. (that was just today). A friend suggested the 3 vs the 6 based on price and would I use the added features of the 6 ? Very happy so far - the apps loaded seamlessly and most everything is relatively easy if you are used to Apple products

My Series 3 42mm has given me all-day battery life, health tracking, and more. If you're looking for a smartwatch that gets the job done without costing $500 or more this is the right choice. What I enjoy in my Series 3 Apple Watch is the waterproof for swimming. Specifically, these models have been designed to withstand water depth up to 160 feet or 50 meters! For most users, Apple Watch Series 3 offers the best things an Apple Watch can do with a price that is way more reasonable and affordable.

I am coming from Apple Watch Series 1, and I ended up using that watch primarily to receive notices and quick glance at the weather, and a text reply if I really had to. But I always found myself going to my phone if I needed anything else more complicated since the series 1 was just too slow. With the series 3, all of that has changed. It is now a joy replying to texts, etc and it’s actually quicker now to do it on the watch rather then dig out my phone. And the battery life is unbelievable compared, with a full day of flying and traveling, at the end of the night I still had 50% charge left! Series1 would have been drained mid day. Call clarity has been greatly improved. As far as LTE goes, you would be crazy to buy that version unless you are a serious runner. If you are biking, take your phone. Hiking, take your phone for the pics. Swimming... maybe. Music with the Apple AirPods is awesome. Get this watch!

I got myself the Apple Watch SE (2nd Gen), & Wow, it's blowing my mind! This smartwatch is seriously on another level, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. It's Crazy fast! I mean, it's like lightning in a watch. Navigating through apps, getting notifications, and tracking my fitness activities is a breeze. No lag, no hiccups - just smooth sailing all the way. It's like having your iPhone on your Wrist! Great Watch
