Huge step up from Fitbit and Android Wear

I have previously worn a Fitbit and an Android Wear, and Apple Watch laps the competition. Apple Watch has a better form factor and functionality than Fitbit and better health apps and more overall usefulness than the Fossil with Android Wear it replaced. While still bulkier than a traditional watch, it feels much thinner than the Fossil. I was skeptical of the quirky band design at first, but now I love that the excess band tucks in. Set up was fairly straightforward, but the watch was a little sluggish out of the box. After digging around on Apple's site, I realized that it probably needed to have its operating system updated. After I updated, it was much zippier. I have found that the touch screen interface can become slow to respond or lose responsiveness all together. If I power down and back on, it regains responsiveness. Battery life is great. I recharge nightly, but it's never dropped below 70 percent (in part because Apple doesn't allow an "always-on" option). Like a lot of users I've read about, I've become somewhat addicted to closing the activity rings daily. Note that if you are trying to close the rings and exercising, you will want to start the workout app to get full credit for the workout. I appreciate the "stand-up" reminders, even though some users may find them annoying. I'm enjoying my Watch and would give it five stars if it didn't have those responsiveness issues.

Purchases for my husband. This is great for tracking fitness and him being able to see texts and calls without having to have his phone in his hand all day. Very intuitive to use and the price for the 3rd generation is awesome.

I have to say I love this device, make life 10 times better and easier, many times I find myself sitting with my child on my chest asleep and unable to get my phone from my pocket, and this lets me know what is going on. Has so many features I had no idea of, my wife has one as well and we love them, they are so user friendly and so well built. I was worried and tried to do many different protections on it and all let me down so I talked to a store rep and said dont sweat it due to apple care if something does happen, so I have gone about a month now with 0 protection on it and I work outside a lot and doing construction and woodworking and surprisingly this thing and its scree is really tough and seems to brush off scratches pretty easy. I beat it up and it still looks brand new with the abuse I put it through. Great purchase. And I did buy the Series 3 over the series 4 because of price point but not at all disappointed.

I was a little skeptical at first. I purchased the watch looking for a lighter weight watch than I had and a fit device like the one I tried and returned due to it not being accurate with step count. I can get 2-3 days out of a single charge and it charges to full in 1 hour. I don’t use the phone much but will use it more to view email and text as well as my fitness items. This watch is definitely more accurate on step count than my old Fitbit.

This is my third Apple Watch, and it is by far the best. Having owned both the original Apple Watch and the Series 2, I can confidently say this is the most useful watch so far. This Watch is much faster and more responsive than my series 2. I actually find myself using the 3rd party apps now and using Siri quite frequently. The watch is finally fast enough to be a more convenient alternative to pulling your iPhone out of your pocket.

I use this watch mainly for business. I helped me organized my days and remind me what to do next on a busy day. the battery on Series 3 is better than any generation and the speed is much improved from Series 2. I like the fact that the watch is now operating faster and not so much hicked up like Series 2. so if you are using a Series 2 watch, and wanted the speed and Siri voice feedback to you. This is a recommended upgrade.

Bought this watch back in 2022 and still have it. Great watch! It’s very durable and has treated me well. The bezel is slightly thicker than expected but once being worn, you barely notice it’s on your wrist. Highly recommend all of the Apple Watch series. The 3 series is great for what you pay.

I absolutely love the Apple watch & so glad I finally made the purchase. I was able to purchase on sale & it was money that was very well spent. It’s so convenient to respond to texts & answer phone calls without your handset. I also love that each notification (reminder, alarms, app notification, etc) that I receive on my iPhone, I also receive on the watch. It’s so sleek in appearance. I did not invest in the cellular pkg, however I love it just the same. As long as your iPhone is in the vicinity, you should not have any problems with phone calls/texts. I’m in a two-story home, and I’m able to still have service with my watch if I leave my phone upstairs/downstairs. It’s a great investment. I look forward to using it in my workouts. Make the purchase, you will not be disappointed!!!

I recently got my hands on an Apple Watch Series 3, and I have to say, it's been a great addition to my life. The watch's performance is impressive; it's fast and responsive, ensuring a smooth user experience. The screen size might be smaller than the newer models, but it's still ample for checking notifications and tracking my fitness. I particularly appreciate its durability and water-resistance, making it a reliable companion for various activities. This Apple Watch Series 3 has certainly won me over with its overall functionality and value for the price.

Switched from Fitbit Ionic to Apple Watch

LOVE my Apple Watch functionality and design. My Fitbit Ionic (less than one year old) stopped calculating calories burned. After attempting to resolve with Fitbit Chat Support and Phone call, I just decided to return, given that I had purchased the 2 year extended warranty. I was offered a new Ionic, but Best Buy no longer provides extended warranty (Fitbit quality control issue?). So, with the warranty balance, I asked to upgrade to an Apple Watch with Apple Care. Within a week, the price of the Apple Watch dropped and I got my money back. I love how the watch communicates with my iPhone 6 Plus, unlocks my Mac, and provides all of the data/feedback I need for my weight loss journey. With the money I saved, I also purchased two additional bands (sport and dressy) from Amazon. LOVE THIS APPLE WATCH (and you will too)!!!!!

I bought this to motivate me to be more active. I have ADHD, so it's easy for me to get distracted and hyper focused into projects for long periods of time, and forget to get up and be moving. The hourly reminders to stand up and move around are great, as they prompt me to get up and be more active. Also, closing my 'activity rings' offers motivation to go work out, regardless of whether I'm in the mood to haha! I was surprised at how handy the ability to see and respond to phone calls and messages was, as I had figured that would just be a fun novelty. Instead, I've encountered numerous situations where being able to take a call, or respond to a text message, either with a quick voice to text response, or a scribbled response, was made much easier by not having to stop what I was doing and dig my phone out. (This is especially true when I'm in the middle of cooking, I've even used my nose to hit the 'reply' button when my hands were covered in dough!). I downloaded a free sleep tracker onto my watch as well, so I can track how much I generally get, and how restless I am during the night. I don't use that every night, but it's kind of interesting to see why sometimes I wake up feeling much less rested than others. However, for all of the great things about this watch, I do have to address the fact that the exercise tracker is severely lacking. It does not record exercise minutes with any reliable consistency at all. It works well enough when connected to the wifi at home, though I haven't done a full indoor workout to fully test that. But when I leave the house to go on a long walk, or on a bike ride, it does not record the majority of my exercise minutes, regardless of the fact that my heart rate remains up above 130 (usually ranging between 148 and 170 during bike rides, which is added motivation to get into better shape so those numbers can come down!). I completed a 10 mile bike ride, over the course of an hour and 10 minutes, and the watch only tracked about 37 minutes of it. Needless to say, this is very frustrating, especially considering how much these watches cost! Apple doesn't seem inclined to acknowledge that there must be a software issue involved, so I doubt there will be any good resolution for this issue anytime soon. The only consolation is that I can update my exercise minutes in the Health app on my phone, which is okay, but I really shouldn't have to do this for a device as pricey as this one. So, with that one major and glaring flaw aside, overall I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend it to others, as long as they were aware of the aforementioned flaw. I have read that others who experienced this issue have simply downloaded a 3rd party activity tracker app and reported that they no longer had issues tracking their activity, so I might give that a try in the future. In the meantime, the other features make up for the problems and I can deal with manually updating my exercise times.

I love the Apple Watch Series 3. I had a series 1 for the last year and I loved that too, but it lacked the waterproof capability, GPS standalone and the altimeter. Now, this is the best watch I have owned, compared to (when I had an Android) Samsung Gear 1, Gear 2 Neo, Android Wear, (when I got an iPhone) Apple Watch Series 1 and now this - it is hands down the best.

I’ve had a series 1 Apple Watch for two years and loved it. I just upgraded to the new series 3 and I’m loving it. It is so awesome to go from my workouts to the shower without having to remove my watch. Last week I locked my self out of my house with my iPhone still inside. Since I had my new watch on I was able to activate my electronic lock and get back inside.

I have been a fan of Apple watches since they first appeared in the market. While I had some less than optimal opinions about Apple Watches Series 1 and 2, Series 3 knocks it out of the park. Performance-wise, this watch is what Apple is all about in the first place. The battery life is extraordinary (14-15 hours while not in Airplane mode), which allows you to use all the apps that are built-in in the watch. The ability to use it underwater without the worry of damaging the device, it's a bit plus. If there is a drawback, it would probably be how fragile it is. If you are interested in keeping this watch in top shape, it is worth investing in a screen protector, a rubberized casing, and possible, a sturdier watchband. All in all, this is a great investment.

I had the original Apple Watch before purchasing this device, it is amazing how far along they've come in just a few years. I easily get 2 days on a charge even with heavy use, and it is really helpful in the clinical setting.

When the Apple watch first came out I thought it was a pretty silly idea. Although I'm a septuagenarian I've used Apple products for years (computers, I-pod touch, I -phone, apple TV, etc. but I couldn't imagine why anyone would need a product like this. My old watch died a few years ago and I was getting used to pulling out my phone to check the time, although it was kind of inconvenient. My new watch is great. Always right there with not only time but weather, schedule, stock mkt, and everything I would normally use my phone for including calls and texts. I would have a hard time getting used to being without it now. I even went out and bought one for my wife and she loves it too. Its great for tracking workouts also.

The Apple Watch series 3 is an awesome device. Picked min up on sale for $200 I love how it tracks my steps, heart rate, breathes per Minute! Although its not made specifically for fitness tracking it definitely gets the job done. Being able to to see all my notifications on my wrist as well as sending a quick reply has proven to be one of my favorite and most practice features. Ive had Garmin Vito fits, fit bits, and even samsung galaxy gear smart watches. Non of these devices can even come close tho the durability, dependability, mad easy to navigate user interface. If you have an iPhone this is a great companion device! Definitely recommend to ally my family and friends.

I’m obsessed with my watch. I have had a million fitness wearables and this is the easiest to use and most seamless when switching activities in workout from row to run to bike back to HIT workout... I belong to orange theory which monitors your heart rate with the strap and I’m always within 2-4 beats a minute on my watch vs the strap. Super accurate for me. I also have a job where I do not have access to my phone and this gives me all the alerts I need and the ability to text on the fly... the customization to the watch faces is great. I have one geared towards fitness and one for work... Couldn’t love it more. It was exactly what I was looking for regarding fitness, work, and leisure.
