Great If You Have The Money To Blow

So, I've been wanting an apple watch for a long time, and when I finally decided to purchase one, I figure, go big or go home, right? So. I bought the newest, biggest one and it was expensive (for me). Now that I've had the thing for like a month, I like it, but I don't use it as much as I thought I would. I wear it when I remember to and its deff handly at the gym if you're into tracking your stuff... but other than that it's kinda just for show. I like the feel of it and how big the screen is. I like that I can text while I'm at work.. But It was just so expensive for basically a convenient toy. If I went back in time, I wouldn't of bought it for the price I paid. But, It's a cool gadget if you have the money to blow.

My wife and I got Apple Watches through my job for a fitness program to earn HRA funds. We primarily use it to count our steps, but some of the convenience features of checking messages and using the speaker phone are cool. Otherwise there isn’t much use to have something like this, unless you’re a diehard workout enthusiast that needs to track heart rate and other activity stats. Best feature for me is not having to reach for my phone when I get a text. Not worth $400 though.

It is ok, I wish I would have gotten the watch with cell technology built in, it would probably be more useful. The band that comes with it, is not great, so you start off having to buy a new one, there are a ton of after market options that are great for less than $10. It does what it should, but I would think by version 4 it would have been a more mature product line.

Finally broke down and bought the Apple Watch 4. Probably got influenced by all the ads. Using it for two weeks now, I am unclear why one would need one. It's a good fitness tracker but otherwise if you usually have your phone near you, it's fairly useless. If you never had an Apple Watch but are thinking of buying one, look closely at what it actually does and whether it worth the price for you.

Purchased my first series 4 Apple Watch and it would not update at all, so I returned it. Received a brand new one and asked for help to get it set up. The lady who tried to help me set up my watch was very nice! My watch would not “update” at BestBuy and I was there for over 3 hours. I took it home, hooked it up to my high-speed WiFi and it was updated and working within 20 minutes. I love my watch though! Used for SOO many things every day (fitness, steps, heart rate, music, etc)

I’ve used many smart watches over the last 8 years and this is my first Apple Watch. The good: customizing with cases and bands, good texting interface, clean design. The bad: battery life, notifications don’t sync completely with the phone, UI is a mess, doesn’t auto detect running very well Samsung does considerably better at the exercise detection and battery life, even with iOS. And the UI to me makes more sense. I would suggest that unless the EKG aspect is important.

The stupid circles for fitness suck! You can;t display actual steps or actual heart rate on the face, have to go to sub-scree, where there is a lag time while it measures. Fitbit displays both in real time and on the face. If it was not for the interface with DEXCOM Cintinuous Glucose Monitor, and the ability to get an EKG reading, this watch would drop to far second place.

This was a gift for someone and they love it. I am personally not a big fan of apple products due to high prices, but they said the microphone works great and the watch is much faster than the other smart watches they have used. Of course can't beat the looks. 3 stars for apple because the price for silver band was outrageous. So I had to stick with the white band.

I purchased this open box apple watch as a gift for my daughter's birthday. For some reason it wouldn't sync up with her phone--after many failed attempts she took it back to Apple and they replaced it with a new one because something internally was wrong with it. Overall, I would purchase another open box item since Apple stands behind the purchase.

    AppleWatch for Runners

I haven't loved this yet for RUNNING. I specifically got it for running and watching my pace for marathon training, but I have felt the pacing is super jumpy and clearly not accurate at times (I"m using Nike Running App). I got this over Garmin as something a little more multi-useful. Now, I will preface I heard there's a stride calculator I haven't looked into yet that may help but I haven't looked into finding that yet. I think I need to sit down and really study up on how to best use it, this is just my first experience from someone moderately tech friendly but impatient. I can't rate it average or poor b/c I can't promise it's not just me who's impatient to LEARN it- but the fact that pacing has been pretty off is disappointing for the $500t total out of store that it costed and that being the sole reason I got it I've been in the pool with it and run through pouring rain - no issues with it being water proof.

It’s an improvement over the last installment (I upgraded because mine stopped working properly). However, battery life on the adversitsed watch faces is pretty lackluster. It’s got a pretty screen though and it feels much thinner on the wrist than previous models. Hopefully patches/updates will solve the battery issues. Probably a 4 at that point.

The last time I was this fit… I was 18 and wrestling. Not sure if the price is worth using it for just exercise. But the metallic finish is gorgeous, and face options are beautiful.

Receiving iphone calls on the watch is great, but

I bought the watch to replace a Fitbit. The watch is GPS, not cellular, but I can receive calls on it if the iphone is nearby, i.e I am outside my house and the iphone is inside. BUT, since the fitbit also receives text messages from my iphone. I found that the watch does NOT notify me of some of the text messages that the fitbit does. For example, I found some text messages sent to me by my granddaughter came up on the fitbit but the watch didn't notify of them. Sometimes messages appear on both but not always. Therefore, to make sure I get the text message from my granddaughter telling me to pick her up at school, I wear both the watch AND the fitbit. Also, the fitbit displays my heart rate in real time while this watch which costs so much more does not.

Some hiccups with accidental swipes and unwanted setting changes. With it always listening it sometimes activates seri at inappropriate times. Battery lasts all day and it’s great to see alerts without pulling out the phone.

This is my second time purchasing a apple watch and I will not do so again. The first time it was in my duffle bag and I tossed it on the floor (with the screen protector) and the screen shattered. Apple does not replace fix screens and I did not have apple care so the cost to fix the watch was basically the same price as a new one, so here I am buying this new one (and yes I got apple care this time) but it shouldnt shatter that easy.

It's held up well to everyday use, and holds a charge for a couple days. Tried to get some games to work on it but couldn't. This is my first smartwatch and seems to be a good starter smartwatch if anything.

This is the only Apple product that I don’t find to be user friendly. I found that I just don’t like the interface. I’m someone who will always have their phone nearby and that takes care of everything the watch does, outside of heart rate tracking. There is no native sleep tracking, and the third party apps (and I mean ALL of them) are truly inaccurate. I came to Apple Watch from years of Fitbit use and it’s just simply not as good in any respect. Also beware, no fitness tracker or smart watch can accurately read through intensely saturated tattoo ink. I had this issue with both brands and have to wear devices on my other wrist.

The apple 4 watch has a huge capability and a lot of AI. The 1st 2weeks have been difficult and humiliating because the watch is constantly providing information I did not request. Stand up, Breath, you appear to be driving all notifications are blocked, etc. Other owners tell me it will take a month to learn how to live with this device. But when you do, the information is amazing and useful.
