Defective and Flawed.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The watch has defects and flaws in terms of the software, manufacturing, material use, and design. Glass on the screen is extremely cheap, very low-quality. It is highly prone to scratching. Mine got a scratch that can’t be removed from just taking it out of the fabric cloth case it was incased in, in the Apple box the watch came in. I was extremely gentle too. Sports band the watch came with does not go on one-handed because it does not have the traditional latch like most watch bands do. I have tried numerous ways of putting it on one-handed and it never fully goes on. Crown Is to big or placed to low because my wrist is always hitting it and Siri is randomly activating because of that. Which is extremely annoying. Yes, a case would probably prevent this happening but that’s a work around rather than a fix. Bluetooth making the battery drain faster. When it’s off I can go 18+ hours without recharging. When it’s on I am lucky to get 5-6 hours out of the watch before it’s at least 80% dead. If you use the ping your iPhone feature you have to keep the Bluetooth on. No way around that. Haptic alerts are horrible. When I get them, whether I got the watch set to default or prominent, I feel like I am being shocked. Similar to that of a shock from an electrical outlet. It’s absolutely horrible!!!! Home screen when in grid view very hard to navigate, visually speaking. It’s clusterf&@cked and overly fluid. Home screen can be changed to list view but then you have to scroll through the apps unlike with grid view that has them all in one place. Apps go through iPhone. There are some that can be downloaded directly to the watch but they are few. Which means you have to be Tethered to your iPhone and also will have a bunch of apps on iPhone for The watch that are for the watch and not your iphone. Yes, some can be used both ways but if you are downloading them for your watch then you are intending to use them on your watch not your iPhone. No way to get notifications for when I need to take my seizure medications. I tried both alarms and reminders and neither gets the job done. I can’t get a visual or a haptic notifications. $419 smart watch and it can’t even do something as simple as this. Not compatible with android or iPhone 5s, SE, 6, etc. Anyone buying this watch should be aware of that. 40mm seems overly small for my wrist. If I could exchange it for a 44mm at No cost I would. It came from Apple out of the box with a scratch though, as was stated in paragraph 1 of this review, so that is Not possible. Ecg works great but most do Not know how to properly read an ecg and even if they did they still could miss something so this kind of stuff should be left to the experts e.g. emergency room physicians, cardiologists, etc. Heart rate detector works great. Very reliable. Better than even the traditional one you put on your finger. its got error correction built in and will detect across whatever time for however long you need it too and will adjust. Replies don’t always go out. If someone sends a message from their cell phone via WhatsApp, iMessages, SMS, etc.. they don’t always get a reply that is sent from the watch. Have double checked using my iMac and iPhone so I know this to be a fact. It has a Lithium ion battery which is ridiculous. Lithium ion batteries are outdated. They are going the way of lead acid and alkaline batteries.
