A great Apple Watch for the money

For $300, this was an awesome deal. I had purchased one off of Amazon just a few days prior, and when I received that one, it had some major display defects. I returned it shortly thereafter, and decided to order the same price deal Apple Watch from BestBuy. The quality of the products as well as the speed of delivery that BestBuy has is insanely outmatched IMO. Note, the major functional difference between the Series 4 and the Series 5 is that the Series 5 now has the "Always on" display function. Watch battery life is still amazing even with that added change. I would recommend the watch with the $300 tag price, and I would 100% recommend BestBuy's products for this and ANY future electronics items. BestBuy product quality and customer service is on point!

I owned a Series 3 watch for two years and loved it. When it accidentally broke I went in for the Series 5. I’m a swimmer so the ability to wear this watch for a lap swim workout or surfing session is awesome! Not a huge fan of the band that comes with it - if you neglect to clean it with soap and warm water for even one day it can start getting funky. If you’re an athlete, I recommend grabbing a metal mesh band as a replacement. Software is easy to install and use. Battery life is definitely improved over previous series. Storage is more than adequate - I doubt I’ll ever fill it up. All together, one of the better purchases I’ve made recently!

It's been 4 years now, it still works and still updates. The current version is 10.5. Battery is ok for a day. Don't buy rubber protector because somehow it scratches the sidings. Series 5 serves its purpose, mirrors important apps from my iPhone.

My wife surprised me over Christmas by purchasing an Apple Watch Series 5 to add to my tech. I'm a network engineer and appreciate well-designed products. This watch certainly fits the bill! The always on feature of the Series 5 is fantastic, even so, battery life is excellent. The interface is intuitive, providing the information you need when you need it. Fully customizable to how you work and live. I use it as a work watch for email, text, schedule and navigation. Also use it while working out, keeping track of all fitness metrics. Switching bands is simple, easy. I'll be playing with it for months trying to figure out everything it can do. All around winner and perfect companion for the iPhone.

    Great watch & battery life.

Had a Fitbit versa 2 and it still functions great for my purpose. Prefer the messaging app on the Apple Watch as I can actually read an entire text. Battery works great! I changed the setting to not have the watch always be “on” and it appears to help preserve battery life. Doing so can get me 2-3 days. Of course I try to charge nightly just in case. So far so great! Debated between 40mm (tooo sm) vs 44mm (a little big) for what felt like forever. For a female my wrist measured around 6.5 inches. Supposedly, I could go either way as it appears to be in the mid-range. I went with 44mm. Felt 40 was just too small. I’m ok with it. Wish it came in a 42mm.

This being my first apple watch, i have no words. The always on-display is definitely one of my favorite features. The display just dims down and you can still check the time without moving your wrist like previously seen on other series. The battery lasts all day and more! The watchOS 6 interface is beautiful and smooth. Definitely recommend buying this watch, the set up process is simple and fast. I love the convenience of answering messages, playing my music, checking heart rate & activity goals on my wrist. Of course, it’s also capable of more.

One of the best purchases I’ve ever made

I was the type of person who didn’t understand the value of a smart watch since I could easily just pull my phone out and check messages or calls. Boy was I wrong and I wished I would’ve gotten a smart watch much earlier. It may solve a very first world problem, but not having to take out your phone every single time you receive a notification has allowed me to actually use my phone a lot less. Sometimes you get a notification and half the time it’s important, but half the time it’s not something you need to look at right away, but we still have to check and decide for ourselves if that notification is important. By using the Apple Watch you decide what notification to ignore without taking your phone out of your pocket. And if you need to reply to someone or take a call it’s all done hands free. I never thought I would use the fitness features but now I can’t live without them, I workout daily and without the Apple Watch I would not be able to keep track of my progress or be motivated. It really has improved my health by a lot. The battery life is amazing, I don’t usually use the always on display, I sleep with the watch on my wrist to track my sleep, and I use it heavily during the day. I usually go a day and a half to two days of battery life, so at the very least it will comfortably last all day. This is by far one of the best purchases I’ve ever made, I don’t regret buying this watch and the best part is it’s always improving through software. Apple Watch user for life.

It was a great purchase! Battery is awesome and screen size is more than enough. My husband just loved the gift and he is using it every day, all the time! Including during his sleep time to measure all health stuff. He is about to forget all his other "regular" watches lol. Since it has GPS he doesn't think it would be necessary to buy one with Cellular. He is just so happy and it makes me happy too!!!

My Apple watch (Series I) died a few days before Christmas (not bad I suppose since it was at least 5 years old I think). The face actually became separated from the body and flip-flopped around which caused the screen to "digitally fog-up". Best Buy was having a sale so I did some research and decided to purchase a new one (Series 5). This watch is so much nicer than my Series I (duh) and I love the feature updates. The watch has so many new features as well as the "always on" display (dimmed but readable) until you touch it, or "flick your wrist" to bring it to full brightness. Battery life is unbelievable as even after 18 hours of use, the batters still shows 75%. After 18 hours on my old watch, the battery was dipping into the red. Like most Apple products, they are not inexpensive (this one was 1/3 the price of my Series I), but I'm still happy after one month.

Overall: Great upgrade for someone with a Series 3 or lower. Obviously, the highlight feature of this watch is the Always-On display. While a little late to the party, the Apple Watch Series 5 executes on this feature quite well, with unique effects for each kind of watch face. I didn't notice much of an issue with battery life. With Always-On enabled, I was ending most days with over 35%, so it is very comfortably an all-day watch. However, when disabling the feature, I could easily get two full days without a charge. Again, not spectacular when compared to the competition, but a welcome upgrade nonetheless. The "Raise and Talk to Siri" feature, or whatever it's officially called, works quite consistently. I found it super convenient to send a quick text, navigate to a certain location, or set a reminder, and I appreciate not having to summon the voice assistant with a "Hey, Siri?" every time I want to issue a command. Notifications are crisply delivered with the Taptic engine, and the interface is easier than ever to use. Is it worth an upgrade if you already have a Series 4? I'd say not. Always-On is a nice quality-of-life change, but not a paradigm shift. If you have a Series 3 or lower (I actually came from a Series 2, so I was long due for an upgrade), then go for it. You'll appreciate the slimmer profile, bigger screen, better battery life, and much snappier performance.

    Loving the New Apple Watch

My wife got this watch for me for an Anniversary gift and I love it. I had an Android Smart Watch but the battery in it wouldn't even make it half the day before it died. So I stopped using the Android Watch and wanted a newer watch ever since. So since we upgraded our phones to iPhones my wife got me the Apple Watch and I love it a lot better than my old Android Watch. You can't download custom made watch faces like the Android Watches but that doesn't really matter so much compared to the many other features (which are too many to list here) this watch has compared to the Android watches. I really love the fitness tracking and heart monitor an overall feel of the watch and the OS on it. I would highly recommend this Apple Watch to anyone looking to get a Smart Watch.

So I had a first generation Apple Watch and it was awesome. It monitored my fitness, and overall was very useful. I don't use a lot of the apps, but overall was happy with it. So here is what i like about the new version in comparison. always on - very cool. I have mine set to modular mode and I can see a lot of details including fitness, direction, time, calendar, date and even the outside temp with a clever low and high built in. Also I like the water resistance, but the really cool thing that I don't see on a daily basis is the EKG monitor. I understand that it is not to be relied on, but any tool is better than none. The battery life seems to be a lot longer on this watch than my old one. I enjoy the apple watch a lot, and it is a great source as a quick reference.

Got this for my birthday and really like it. I was hesitant to spend that much on a watch, but I am glad I did my wife has a first gen Apple Watch that she really likes, although it’s been replaced under warranty twice (the back kept falling off). I get two days of use out of a charge, unless I use it for a golf watch app that uses a lot of GPS (even after 20 months). No problems so far. I really like how I can use it to adjust volume on my iPods; didn’t know about that!

I picked the Apple Watch up after switching from Android. Previously I had used the Galaxy Watch 46mm which was a solid smart watch when I bought but started to show its age as Samsung got lazy with the updates. So far after about 3 weeks the Apple Watch has proven its usefulness from health tracking and overall being an excellent smart device. Notifications are easy to read and well the battery life is decent if you disable Always On Display. I do recommend getting a case/cover for the device due to its potentially more fragile design.

Apple you did it again. This watch is awesome. I love everything that it has to offer, I can see my heartbeat, I can see how many hours I’ve slept, Check the time and more! The battery runs me all day and it charges very quickly. My only wish is that it would play music out of the watch itself. The walkie talkie app is also a little wonky and from my experience it doesn’t work all the time. I also wish the watch could detect if anyone on your contact list owns an Iwatch so that you could easily add anyone from your contact list.

I love the AW! It works as both a health monitoring device and a sort of remote for the phone. I am someone who is addicted to keeping tabs on my phone, and I love the freedom the watch allows me to not have my phone on me at all times. For me the watch lasts from when I put it on first thing in the morning until I go to bed at night (with battery to spare...if there was a fast charging I bet I could wear it all day and night and charge it during the morning while I get ready for work)

Love this watch! I have had the best time with this watch, honestly didn’t think I would like it as much as I do. Works amazing with the iPhone 11 and honestly it’s the only option for a smart watch these days. I’m getting great battery life with always on display. I did turn off background app refresh which I think helps, but I usually get more than 24 hours, probably 36 hours of use. Now mind you this is probably not heavy use, but great nonetheless. Highly recommend.

I was afraid of the Series 5 price tag when I hit that Confirm Purchase button, but I cannot tell you how happy I am that I did. I upgraded from the original Apple Watch, which was non-responsive at times, slow to read text messages and disappointment with the lack of a screen that can always be on. I bought this watch primarily for when I am in the hospital as a nursing staff member. Be warned, there is no active second hand while in always-on mode. But I have noticed that my watch lasts greater than my 12-hour shifts. This is even with more than average use -- voice-to-text messages, viewing texts primarily from my watch, looking at the screen for time... I would say the lowest I've ever had this watch was about 27% after a day's worth of use. If you're looking to upgrade from an older version, do not let the price tag prevent you from getting this. The EKG function is also fun to play with, but only assists in monitoring atrial fibrillation, normal sinus, sinus tachy and sinus brady. Overall, I highly recommend this watch not just for the increased battery life, Apple's first watch with an always-on screen, EKG/fall monitoring, but because it's also helpful when trying to stay off your cell phone but still stay connected with long-distance family/friends.
