An impulse buy that for once I won't regret

I was a day one user of the Apple Watch with a stainless steel Series 0 back in April 2015. I still use and love that watch, but a lot has happened in six years. There are so many built in features in the Series 6 I am enjoying, especially those regarding health and fitness. I hike often and the built-in altimeter and monitoring of my heart rate, oxygen (I live in the mountains), etc. is great and inspires me to push myself. (Yes, I have become motivated to close my rings.) I use it to pay at the store without dragging out my phone and I find it much more convenient to receive notifications on my wrist rather than looking through the house to find my phone when I hear it ring or get a notification. I bought the red version because it was on sale, although at the time of purchase that would have been my last choice. However, even though I bought a black thin case to change the color, I find I really like the red and don't want to cover it up. While some people may find there is a downside in that co-ordinating watch bands is more challenging than if you have a black or silver case, I am not nearly as bothered by this as I thought I would be and have yet to use the black cover I purchased. I like the pop of color and can always throw on the case I bought if I want to wear other watch bands or change to a watch face that doesn't go with red. Although this was an impulse buy, I do not regret that impulse one moment. I could not be happier with my purchase. (Note: Although I received points for doing this review, I would have done it nevertheless. I have already recommended the watch to several people.)

I work a very physical job. I use my watch primarily at work and I hit it on things daily. I bump into boxes, steel poles and such. Get a silicone screen protector and a different watch band and you’ll be fine. I’ve had this watch since it was newly released and it still works great! The battery life could be better, but it still lasts me about two days between charges.

This watch has been amazing for tracking fitness. I can run my exercise routines right from the watch itself, no longer needing my phone. I have had it over a year now and no issues at all, just works. I've taken it on several 6+ hour hikes tracking my position. Battery life has really impressed, even after those long hikes I still am near 40-50% at end of the day.

I purchased this a few years back and still love it. I am using it daily and it works like when I first got it. It offers a large amount of features that contribute to daily routine and it is pretty durable and takes the impact of small hits and bumps without affecting its functionality or appearance.

This is my 1st Apple watch as opposed to basic fitness trackers (FitBit) I've had in the past. I see a lot of upgrades to this of course but overall it's almost a little too busy. There's a bit of a learning curve just to get the clock face set up, e.g., so you can see your steps on the face & check your stats for the day. (And only 3 weeks in, the pedometer function really isn't keeping track well; I have to tap the steps on the watch face to enter the pedometer, & THEN it recalibrates to show the current number on the watch face.) What I really liked about FitBit was that it automatically calibrated your activity along with steps, like equating your energy output to calories burned & increasing heart rate; with this watch you literally have to go into the Workout app to get your energy/calories calculated, otherwise it just doesn't show that you did anything resembling "exercise". For instance if I'm outside in 98 degree heat pulling weeds for 20 minutes & my heart rate goes up into what would be considered exercise, it doesn't log that as 'Activity' or 'Exercise', unless I go into the Workout app & set it as an exercise I'm going to do that resembles what I'm doing. Apple also could add things like 'Gardening', or 'Warm-up', or 'Cardio with Weights'. It also seems like once you set up your watch you should be able to eliminate things like the entire list of Workouts so your battery will last longer; there's just so much "stuff" that stays on your watch that seems like it could be removed, since everything lives on your iPhone and you could also add to your watch if you needed to. Same with all the apps: the watch mirrors your iPhone, but why do I need 'AudioBooks' on my watch? I still can't find a way to eliminate apps on the watch that I don't need. The health tech features are superb, like ECG & heart rate. The generic sport band really doesn't breathe & is very sweaty, so I will be upgrading to the new sport loop which is supposed to wick away sweat. In summary, it's packed with features, shows great promise as a health/tech combo, but it has too many features that seem extraneous.

Great smart watch overall. I used to love Fitbits but found the hardware broke every year. I hate the idea of sinking so much money into a Fitbit that will end up in a landfill within a year. While the Apple Watch is pricier, I’m hoping it is an investment that will last at least 3 years, in which case the cost breaks even with most Fitbits. I was impressed with ease of use and default applications available. The size is good for my smaller wrist as a woman. My main disappointment was lack of comprehensive sleep tracking - I really liked the sleep charts available cis Fitbit. But I did some research and found a free app that provides the same type of feedback. Surprised detailed sleep monitoring is not available by default but I’m still happy after finding a free workaround. Also, battery life is much lower compared to Fitbits, about 24 hours. I can usually go a day and a half without charging. I’m in the habit of charging it for for half an hour while I’m doing work at a desk.

I upgraded from the series 3 to the series 6 watch. I like the ability to see where my blood oxygen level is and monitor my ecg. I thought I wouldn’t like the larger 40mm size but I actually it’s much easier to read the display. The apps come up faster.

I love this watch. Great quality and features. Only downside is the battery that lasts a couple days. But if you remember to charge it overnight then you’re good to go. I’ve had it for at least 2 years still works amazingly.

It does everything we've come to expect from an Apple Watch including and especially Heart Rate, ECG and Blood Oxygen. If you're in the Apple system and want a watch that doesn't just tell time but makes your life a easier and more interesting, this is it.

I got this watch 40mm on sale for $250, which was the same price I could had gotten the SE version 44mm. I like the 40mm size better, I forget that is there. I really don't make use of the extra functions on the model 6, so not needed. The battery life is bit better. The deep color red of the aluminium body is beautiful, but the pinkish red of the band I do not like. Thee main difference I have noticed between the SE and Series 6, is that I have had to work harder to make this Series 6 to do what I want it to do. The SE seemed like it hit the ground running. I put it on and it just worked. This Series 6 I have had to configured every bit of bit. 40mm vs 44mm. If you are going to ware the watch bare with no cover case, I would recommend the 44mm it is bearable. But if you are going to add a case to the watch, then the 44mm becomes too bulky and heavy, you constantly notice you have something huge hanging off your hand. The 40mm with an outerbox protective case is perfect size. In terms of bad vision and wanting a bigger screen, there is no much difference between the 40mm and 44mm, they both are hard to see and read if you don't have good eyes. Last but not least, when you sign up for the Apple ecosystem, you only giving your information to Apple and they are not as aggressive wanting all your info. When you go any other route, Google wants your info, Samsung wants your info so bad that they won't even let you use the health app if you don't surrender, and on top of all that, not every android watch works with every android phone, so comparability is a big issue. With the Apple Watch, it is not the best at everything, but it work the best with its phone partner, and at times if you catch a good sale, you can get a superior apple watch for less money, a watch that is going to pair better with the pone, more features and more stable, easier to use, and a joy to live with. I am done messing with android stuff, too many nightmares.

The best smart watch in the market

I bought this for christmas gift for the whole family. After almost half a year's usage, I feel it is still the best smart watch in the market. One charge can hold for about 36 hours as long as you turn off "screen on" function--much longer than the 18 hours claimed by Apple. You can share the data with the family with your iPhone so that you can compete with your family members for the activities and excercise. The Oxygen meter and heart ECG function is very nice or even a must- You can check the oxygen level in case you are scared of catching COVID-19. You can even export ECG report (looks like a serious PDF file) from your phone and send to your doctor for reference. By the way, Best Buy had the best price for this model (while in promotion) in the early December 2020, among major online vendors like Amazon, Office Depot, etc.

Fast and friendly to use. Easy to understand and set up. The new features like the checking of Blood Oxygen levels and an ECG is great for those who exercise or just want to monitor their health. The only negative was that I bought it for my wife and not me.

I first purchased an Apple Watch for my girlfriend, and as is my nature I researched the capabilities and scope of functions this device was capable of performing. In very short order I was purchasing one from myself. I have found it to be a rather amazing device. It certainly adds a great measure of convenience to answering text and email communications throughout the day. I encourage anyone and everyone thinking of purchasing a watch to research it to understand the magnitude of functionality they can put into service for themselves. I will admit that it is rather expensive in comparison to other similar devices, but I do believe it does far more than said devices. Knowing what I know now after having bought it, I would’ve purchased it even sooner if I had to do it over again. Granted, I am a fan of Apple, but the device speaks for itself.
