GPS watch for running

I use Apple Watch mainly to track my fitness activities, mainly running and cycling. I wanted a compact watch with GPS with enough battery life to finish a marathon and Series 9 fits my needs. The Garmin Forerunner series look like great GPS watches, as well, but I like the compact size of the Series 9. Will see how this watch works out for the next 3 years, since that's when I anticipate the battery life to degrade to where it won't make it through the day with a GPS-on workout.

The sales Rep. was very help in helping me understand more about the Apple watch - the different sizes and features. Thanks to the sales rep. what I thought would be a daunting experience wasn't bad at all. The watch is a Christmas gift so I can't give a score on battery live, durability, and comfort.

Oh it even tells time. I have owned several of these watches and they just keep getting better. If Apple could figure out how to make the charge last longer then there would be no need to compare it to any other watch.
