It a good watch the apple watch ultra it need more hype

I’m writing this review after a few months of wearing it and I’m still impressed. I’ve owned a couple other Apple and Garmin Watches and I feel this is what an Apple Watch should have always been. The rugged form factor is eye catching and really feels like it’s built for the outdoors. Not much of a leap in terms of the software features compared to other AWs. But the physical attributes are what make it shine above the rest. The screen is big and bright and I never have to squint to read the display. I was a little concerned that it might be too big on my wrist. Surprisingly it’s not much different than my Garmin Fenix 6. I’m pretty careful with my watches and have inadvertently banged and scraped my Ultra a few times on hard surfaces. Not a scratch. However I still wouldn’t wear it for something like rock climbing. Stainless steel has a slightly higher hardness than titanium, so it still will scratch with enough force. I’m not a diver, but the dive app is a cool addition. I don’t use the native workout app, but seems to sync well with other fitness apps I’ve used. So far the only thing I’d like to see would be more preset options for the side activity button. Looking forward to what future updates might introduce. I was on the fence about the price tag, but with the “built” looking titanium case, seamless integration with iPhone, and versatility I get it. Definitely worth it.

The only thing I would say I didnt like about the apple watch ultra was the price tag. Otherwise the long battery life combined with all the safety festures you would ever need, thjs is the best watch ever. I upgraded from my series 7 and boy was it worth it. A longer battery life and a bigger screen is so easy to use outside for multiple days and nights without having to charge it. And for the amount of time I have banged the watch across metal, it has not scratched one single time. All in all, its worth it even if is a little expensive.

Bought Open Box but surprised this was marked as Excellent condition. When I opened the box, the watch and strap were not in the slots. They were just rolling around as this item traveled across the country. The order was also delayed. Terrible transaction.

I love the Apple Watch Ultra. It is the best Apple Watch I’ve ever had the last one I had was the series 5 titanium and while it was a good watch this one improves on it in most every way. some of such ways are the display is bigger and brighter. My Apple Watch Series 5 display was kind of curved so that made it a target for corners and hard things and it got hit on things a lot. With the Apple Watch Ultra the screen is flat and it has a titanium bezel around it, which is great because I work with a lot of stainless steel and the watch is constantly getting banged into things, another thing is the battery life for me since I don’t use the display is around 54 hours between charges. So that’s great the Alpine loop also is a good band I didn’t think I would like it at first and was going to switch it for more of a sport band but after using it for sometime, I definitely agree with the Alpine loop being the better band

I’ve had several different models of Apple Watches over the years and this one is by far my favorite. I love the redesign, the battery life is incomparable to any of the models before it and the display and feature sets are incredible. I can go nearly 2-3 days in between charges, but I have this mental thing that wants me to see my battery life at 100% all the time so sometimes I charge mine during the day. The larger display along with the increased brightness is a welcome change and I really like the finish on mine. I do hope they come out with different finishes in the future, but I definitely like the durability of this watch. I’m looking forward to iOS 10 to see the new features that come with the software. This watch is by far my favorite of the ones I have. I like it so much that I bought two. One for my personal phone and another for my work phone. Now if they would just let me use one watch for two devices, this would be the ultimate smartwatch.

The Ultra is Big!! It is comfortable on my wrist for all day wear, and every health function works perfectly. I like tracking my activity, heart rate, and sleep. There are tons of functions and by the way, using it as a phone works brilliantly except in really noisy situations. The Alpine Green band is very comfortable, easy to cinch with one hand and looks terrific. I haven’t and will probably never use the diving function, but it’s nice that it’s available. The GPS tracking and backtrack work great also. Lastly, I have been averaging around 72 hours on each charge, and I never have let it get below 20 percent. I had the original Apple Watch and this one is a just so much better, I would highly recommend it.

Quick background - I'm an avid runner (having run 20+ marathons and a couple of ultra marathons). I'm not an elite nor professional runner but someone who enjoys putting in between 25-40+ miles a week of city running. For the last two years, I've had the Apple Series 6 watch which I've primarily used as a lifestyle watch tho I did use it to track my activities on the Peloton and Apple Fitness+. When it came to outdoor running however, I always switched back to my trusty Garmin Forerunner 645 M which provided the more accurate GPS tracking and longer battery life I needed. However after upgrading to the new Apple Watch Ultra, it's fair to say that my old Garmin is likely to only see action when I'm on the treadmill. The new Ultra has taken over not only as my everyday watch but also my performance tracking watch. Here's a quick rundown of the pros and cons to the watch as it relates to my own usage (YMMV): Pros: - much better battery life when compared to the Series 6. I can easily get two days of battery life doing my normal activities (a couple of GPS tracked runs and workouts and my regular daily usage of looking at my notifications etc). Oh and the watch went from 100% to 56% when I ran the Chicago Marathon last Sunday. Thats a lot of battery leftover. - love the new flat screen design that takes elements of the current iPad Pro and iPhone design aesthetics. From edge to edge, the screen is flat and I love it. - The action button is much appreciated in terms of quickly getting to the pre-assigned action - GPS tracking - LOVE the accuracy. The dual GPS frequency tracking is great. It's also not clear if Apple is leveraging what it knows about city streets from their Maps app but the tracking is incredibly accurate even around dense tall buildings. I ran the Chicago Marathon last week and wore both the Ultra and my older Garmin. While the Garmin told me I ran nearly 28 miles b/c of the buildings, the Watch Ultra told me I ran 26.58 miles - the closest I've ever come to 26.2 on any GPS tracked marathon ever. - GPS lock - wow this thing locks on a GPS signal fast. - Size. Yes I think the larger size is a pro. If you're coming from the Sports fitness world of Garmin Fenix's - the 49mm size isn't that bad at all. The larger size brings about the larger display (which is a godsend for my aging eyes) and the larger battery - all really great features. My wrist got used to the bulk in a day. Cons: - Larger battery - slightly longer battery charging times (granted this is using my current charging hardware and not the included charger) - My wrist isn't the thickest wrist out there for a guy and thus getting a nice snug fit can be difficult with the Apple Watch. This sometimes affects the heart rate measurements for some reason (Watch Ultra won't pick up my heart rate which is a pain for long runs) - Because of my wrist size, the watch can sometimes ride down towards the lower end of my wrist which is only a problem when I'm doing Yoga. When I'm doing certain poses such upward facing dog, the back of my hand can sometimes press the right button and make the Watch think I'm requesting SOS :/ Really thats all I can think of right now. This watch is a great improvement over the regular series watch. Don't get hung up over the size if you're coming from the world of large sports watches. If you have a super tiny wrist or are using the smaller 41mm watch tho - this might be large for you. For me - this is a great great watch that I'll use for almost all occasions going forward.

Great battery life! Huge screen is much easier with which to interact. I have a medium sized wrist for a man and this looks perfect! In a world of oversized wristwatches this watch just looks average size on even the smallest wrist. I break things and this has held up well.

Bought this for Ironman triathlon training & the big event. My standard Apple Watch didn’t have the battery life to make it an entire Ironman, and this one had plenty of juice (battery) and then some. Excellent size. Comfortable fit. Easy to use - especially if you’re an experience Apple Watch’er.

The new Apple Watch Ultra takes everything great about the previous versions and adds some new tricks. It is indeed a large watch but still feels natural on my wrist. The larger screen is bright, clear and easier for my eyes to see, increasing the likelihood I will use it more. It is certainly heavier and bulkier that previous Apple watches and you will notice a difference but not so much to be excessive. I used the GPS and workout features which worked as expected. After 24 hours of usage including, wearing it overnight, I am still at 60% battery. This watch may not be for everyone but so far I am very pleased.

No more charging your apple watch every day. I typically get two days before needing to charge. Compass and waypoint functions are great! Love having the larger face and it seems indestructible.

I have been an Android loyalist for many years. I've kept up to date with the latest and greatest Samsung phones and gear, never considering trying apple products. But, recently, my company provided me with an iPhone with service for business calls. Naturally, This was the phone I would utilize the most, so I decided to purchase an Apple ultra watch. To my surprise, the device blew my expectations out of the water. This device keeps track of everything! The large screen makes it easy to read messages and even watch videos; the battery life is fantastic, and this watch's many features are hands down the best smartwatch I've ever owned. Apple has gained a new customer.
