||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This product is probably a good product, however, the reason I purchased it was to use it on a hard drive from an old laptop to be able to use that drive as an external. This wouldn't work for me. Either I didn't know how to use it properly or it wasn't meant for that. When I read the instructions, it read as if the product is only used to transfer docs from one drive to another.

The USB port did not have enough power to run the drive. I needed a separate power port or cable, but didn't have one. I ended up installing the drive in a open bay to partition the drive and load an operating system, then installed it in as the primary drive in my target computer. It works perfectly. The cable was not used.
