I asked the Geek squad person at the front desk if this was what I wanted after explaining what my intended use was , he agreed that it would work. I asked another person on the floor the same questions and they assured me it was what I wanted for my purpose. I got it home and studied the instructions only to find out it was not what I wanted. The fine print on the package even said what purpose it was, looking on the web site it was confirmed it was useless for my purpose. Best Buy Geeks and the floor sales don't always know what they are talking about or know what they are selling. Product was returned and still looking for a suitable product for what I want..

Unit did absolutely nothing. Zip. Zilch. Nada. I suppose it's possible that I just bought a defective unit. The packaging says the CD includes Mac software. It does not. All I could find was a link to trial software that I could download. Think about that for a moment -- you're trying to restore your fried system, you pop in the CD to run the restore software and it tells you to go download some free software from the Internet. Hello!? I'm trying to restore a dead system! What if I don't HAVE access to the Internet? Anyway, I ended up borrowing a dock from a friend. I brought this worthless and extremely overpriced piece of cr@p back and got a full refund.
