used this to clone my hdd to my samsung evo 850 ssd. i was looking for something to get right away instead of waiting to be delivered from a cheaper online retailer so i found this at my local best buy. it was a little pricey but worked great. I did not use the included cloning software cd, instead i used samsung magician, so i cant comment on the included cd. Another thing to consider is once you open it the package states that this product cannot be returned. Also it is USB 3.0, which took me about 1hour 10min to clone 380gb of data.

The Apricorn software on the disk doesn't work for macs, you have to download a software called SuperDuper! to clone your hard drive. Other than that, the product worked flawlessly. It was very easy to replace my 2012 MacBook Pro's hard drive with a SSD drive.

Just plug in the cable - one end to your drive and the other to your computer - and you're ready to go. No software needed for a Mac computer.

Not much needs to be said, but this is a product that does exactly what it says it does. It's a special cable that comes with software that allows you to clone your old hard drive to a new harddrive so that you don't have to lose any data. I needed to transfer my old harddrive to a brand new SSD and was worried about the cloning process. Needless to say, the software and cable worked perfectly, allowing me to swap the drives with no effort.

This data transfer cable worked great overall. The Setup CD and data copying process were fast and easy to use.

This product is the quickest way to clone your hard drive for replacement. Just put the cd in the cd drive and connect the replacement hard drive to the computer with the old hard drive with the cable provided and wait for the process to complete. Its very simple and depending how much is on the old hard will determine how long it takes.

The product is easy to use and set up. Running from the CD is effortless and instructions were easy to follow. Overall, it is a very useful product to clone a second drive in case the main one fails. My only disappointment was that it can only be used with 2.5" drives. It states so clearly on the label, but it would be helpful to be able to clone 3.5" drives as well.

I really only needed the cord and it worked perfect. I tried using the software to transfer data from a dying hdd to a new ssd, but it wouldn't work. For that matter, no software worked, so I can't comment either way on the software.

This was just what I needed to salvage data from my dead laptop. It was easy to use and got the job done :)

This item was so easy to use with my iMac and required no software installation. I recovered priceless photos of my daughter when she was a baby up to ten years old that were strewn across three laptop hard drives and a desktop hard drive. Thank goodness for this cable it made it fast and easy. Now everything is backed up and safe. Whew!

I clone and replace existing hard drives to SSDs using this cable and software. It works great and it is easy to use.

I had no issues performing a basic transfer to a new larger SSD. My laptop now has enough storage to be useful again.

Bought this to upgrade my SSD drive to a 500gb. Worked fast and easy on the first try. I didn't even bother with the software disk- it went right in the trash. Instead I used the free "lite" version of CarbonCopy from the iTunes Store. A breeze. Now the cable will go into the cable drawer for 5 years until I have to upgrade again!

This adapter does exactly what it needs to in that it adapts an external hard drive with a SATA connection to usb 3 speeds. Excellent product.
