Cable really kills the ease of cloning.. was Transferring at a rate of 7-10mb/s. Was going to take days for it to complete. was easier to just start from scratch and backup hard drive on to portable seagate HD. Then just reinstall windows on new SSD HD after install.

Unfortunately this did not work as expected. It would hang on files for transfer.

I bought the usb3.0 version, but it wouldn't work in my usb 3.0 port. needed a driver or something and wasn't available online. Called the tech support line and they were closed on the weekend. So it took 4 hours + and I had to use the usb 2.0 port on my computer. No returns or exchanges on it at Best Buy. boooo

I did not work with my computer to download files from my hard drive off of my computer

I bought this on the geek squad recommendation. My new PC is windows 10. I tried to transfer the docs from my old PC hard drive to my new PC using this product. It did not work. I contacted the company and they sent me the URL to their windows 10 beta software. I could not get that to work either.

Very difficult to recover data and software was no user friendly as advertised

You do not need to buy this product, all you need is the cable. This particular hard drive gives you access to the program via download that is necessary to transfer all the data from your old hard drive to the new hard drive. I would've been grateful to have been told but at the time of purchase.

Was a pointless and useless waste of time and money as I was able to find free software online to get the job done, and you can only use the software if you have the dongle in use as well..

I. Ought it but was not informed that it is for laptop drives only

Tried to transfer files from a failed hard drive to a new one and could not get the cable and disc to function properly. The steps were very hard to follow and not easily understood. Unless you have some technical computer experience I would not recommend attempting to use this system. Sorry.

I went to the store to pick up a hard drive enclosure. They were out of stock and the salesman pointed out this item as an alternative. Tried it on three devices and it was DOA on all three. It was back in the store so fast the same customers were in line to check out when I returned.

Difficult to use and did not transfer all the data

Did not work for the purpose I intended this unit did not work the way I thought it would. If you are buying one of these to transfer data from a solid-state drive or any other Sata drive you’ll need power supply.

I was told by a sales rep to get this and that it was all I needed to clone my hard drive. Wrong! What I needed was a cradle with a power source according to the Geek Squad who worked with me when I went to return it the next day.

Tried about 5 or 6 times to copy laptop hard drive to PC. Kept saying "successful" but no one could find where data went. here is a trick to it that no one cares to share. Very disappointing and a waste of $25

Needed a cord to transfer data from my old laptop to new one. This one, the last step says we are going to wipe your harddrive....NO! Don't use if you want data from both harddrives!
