Purchased to clone old hard drives for SSD upgrade. Easy to use and produced perfect copies. Nice to have in your toolbox for any future upgrades or SSD replacements.

I've used this for at least 4 laptops and 2 desktops. I loaned it out, misplaced another, and got it again. I download the newer versions online and run off that instead of the disk. But the CD version will work and is great in my opinion and usage. If you want to just connect a ssd to a laptop/desktop it's great too. USB 3 connection to a good known USB3 port is best for transfer speed. Remember, older machines don't have usb3 ports, but this cable works usb3 just slower. I used this to copy operating system disks to faster new ssd. Perfect transfer. Entire system disk moved to lil fast ssd. Swap the disk, boot, poof fast.

I Used it to recover information from a dead laptop. I removed the hard drive and plugged it in to a usb3 connection and retrieved all of the contents for a new laptop. The only thing that was a hassle was the short cable. Other than that awesome!!!

Performing a data copy from my full size tower proved to be awkward due to having a HDD dangling from my tower when connected via usb 3.0. I couldn't set the HDD on a flat surface due to the placement of my USB ports and the fact that the cable was really short on the device, which is fine for laptops.

Software and connector made migrating my old hard drive super easy.

Great adaptor For transferring data to other drives

Super easy to use and super fast when it comes to transferring your data from one laptop to another. Took about an hour for me since I have a lot of files in my old laptop. I highly recommend it.

i used this and got my data transferred. It wasn't very hard, but I did have to do it twice. From what I can tell you need to use the software on the disk provided and other programs won't work with it. That is understandable to a degree but I think a "plug-n-play" feature would be better.

If you have a number of extra Hard drives that you use for backup, to store extra data on not always needed, or whatever this cable works great. I am a road warrior, so lightweight and easy to pack are my priorities. This cable allows me to carry a couple of extra 2,5" HDD with me and instantly plug these into my laptop and access the data I need.

Only used the cable to clone my hard drive. Wasn't happy that I couldn't return if it didn't work. Wish there was one without the program. Waste of money if you don't use it.

Had significant problems with the Acronis True Image product supplied by Crucial attempting to change out to SSD by cloning HD. Used software which came with Apricorn instead, with Apricorn cable. Worked perfectly first time! New SSD "turn on laptop to connecting on internet" time now 14 seconds! Definitively recommend Apricorn.
