Looking for a reasonably priced SATA to USB adapter? This adapter is the perfect size for throwing in your laptop bag and head on out to the next customer or friends hard drive issue. Easy setup and comes with the file and data recovery DVD or you can simply go to their website and download the software for free. I have used this adapter on over 36+ hard drives thus far and not going to list all the brands of hard drives, but had no issues at all so far. I would recommend this adapter.

The Apricorn Data Transfer Cable and Software is a cheap way to transfer files from your failing internal Hard Drive. To a New Hard Drive that will be installed internally after you take the information from the one and transfer to the new one. It is much cheaper than taking it to a computer repair place to have it done. But if you are not to confident that you can do it yourself. Then of course take it to the Geek Squad.

I'm glad Best Buy stocks this at most of its stores. The price point is higher that what other online retailers carry; however, when one is in a pinch, it's reassuring to see first hand that the Buy carries a quality product.

I purchased to transfer info from an external hard drive that stopped working but when I got home and looked closer it wouldn't fit my hard drive (to small) so I returned to the store for a refund. I'm sure it an awesome item but didn't even open the package.

I bought this cable to transfer data from a failing hard drive to a new SSD that I bought at the same time. After downloading and installing the SSD's transfer software, I connected the SSD to this cable and the cable to my computer, started the software and copied my old HHD to my new SSD. I worked great. I would recommend this cable to anyone who needs to connect to an internal 2.5 inch SATA drive which is outside of your computer.

This product is great and easy to use, I connected the laptop hard drive to the cable and plugged it into my USB port and I was able to transfer files almost instantly.

This data transfer cable worked fine for me. Did just what it claimed it could do. Made transferring data easy from one hard drive to a new computer.

Used the transfer cable to transfer data to my new samsung ssd. Also came with a free data migration software (also available via download) .However, I used the samsung data migration software to clone my drive so I cannot say how their own software performs.

I purchased this product to try to pull information off of a hard drive that would not boot its PC any more. Unfortunately, while the SATA interface is correct, this does not have enough power to run a 3.5 inch hard drive. I am sure this will come in handy when I have to help fix somebody's laptop, but it didn't do the job I was hoping for. In the product's defense, the packaging does say that it is for laptop hard drives.

The cable works with both 2.5in & 3.5in SATA drives, but the program (EZ Gig) only really works if you have a single partition that you want to clone, or all your partitions are smaller in size than the disc you are cloning to. I would recommend using Macrium Reflect for cloning as you can adjust the partition sizes before cloning. I would recommend the cable, but not the app.

Excellent product which is extremely easy to use through a USB port. I use Windows 10 computers and Acronis software to perform backups and transfer data between computers with this device. This item saves the expense of purchasing hard drive enclosures since you simply connect this data transfer cable to a bare drive. Caution: older IDE hard drives will not fit this device. This is a must have for your PC tool kit.

Last year I was upgrading the Dell laptop Hard drive to SSD. The old hard drive has old documents and big files. That's the reason I was purchased a Apricorn - Data Transfer Cable. It is very excellent product for recovering the any data or files.

Went all over town looking for something similar. Wow, Best Buy you are on the money. Found this and software to go with it. Now I went from 500gb to 1Tb in no time. All my programs, Apps everything. Saved me a TON of $$$. No problem back in business.

No complaints, it got the job down and my new hard drive work fine. The fact the software was with it made my life that much easier with the transfer. Glad I bought it and a new hard drive instead of a computer.

I used it to transfer to a SSD and it was very easy to use. I thought it was expensive (I think $35 after price matching to amazon)

My computer has (4 ) 4 TB SATA 7200 RPM hard drives and 6 more filled with data ready when needed. The product is well made but not marked it will not work on the 3.5 inch SATA hard drives. I was not warned this won't work on other than electronic hard drives.

Was able to transfer my files from old harddrives into my new ones no problem. Worked liked a breeze.

I have some small USB drive carriers but this is much easier when you just want to clone a laptop. Works fine. Just used it once so far.
