I read several reviews here before I purchased that stated that this software didn't work or didn't work well. During the installation processs I downloaded the update as recommended. I had no trouble at all. The cloning worked perfectly. Just followed the instructions exactly. Upgraded my older windows pc laptop from a 750 gb HDD to a 2 TB SSD. Because my computer is olded and doesn't have the newer "high speed" usb ports, it took almost 3 hours to clone a little over 500 GB. But the software's progress bar kept me informed of the progress and the end results are amazing. When I swapped out the new cloned drive, my computer didn't know the difference. But boy did I notice! Booted up FAST with no warning messages or trouble. Ready to go. More than doubled my storage capacity and boot times on my pc went from 4-5 minutes to 60 seconds. Most importantly, I did it myself without paying an "expert". Just read the instructions first then follow the steps exactly. It works very well.

I needed more space on Xbox One this was perfect to connect an external ssd speeds are awesome no lagging

Following a computer crash we had to have a professional rebuild our system. Though they transferred the normal files from the old hard drive to the new one there were other things on the old hard drive I needed. This cable allowed me to hook up the old drive to the repaired computer, access the files and transfer them.

I purchased this cable to clone an internal laptop hard disk to a new replacement ssd. It took several tries within Windows before I realized it is just not a reliable operation to clone a disc while the O/S is running. You need to boot the pc with the cd and run the cloning operation from outside windows. It's much faster and less error prone.

I own several of these cables for quick easy transfers from older drives to newer technology or data organization. Have never had any issues. My only wish is that Apricorn use to offer this same type of transfer cable/software package which included a external hard drive case. The package including a hard drive case might still be offered, but it seems not at a retail big box store.

5 stars for a perfect 1st try clone under Windows 10 home. Downloaded the latest version of EZ Gig as per the package. Cloned existing 1TB seagate internal laptop disk to a new sandisk 512gb SSD using defaults. Replaced the existing disk with the new SSD. Booted up clean. 1 additional step I did, after plugging in the new drive to usb was to initialize the new drive with windows disk management prior to the clone using defaults.

This is a must have if your installing a SSD drive. It creates a Duplicate drive to the new SSD. Very Easy to use.

this trasfer cable .. can't clone my drive correct..had to buy diferent cable to acomplish what a was doing....easy to use but after clone my computer did not boot up waist my money. ...w diferent cable that i have to buy was easy and faster cople clicks and done

After reading some reviews that were negative and some that were positive I went ahead and bought this cable. it fit perfectly and was plenty long enough. No problem with installation at all.

it worth for the price! at first it seems like it does'nt meet what I'm expected but it does and fully satisfied. easy to set up, and I really recommend to others looking such a product like this.thanks Best Buy!

This works great. works on win XP. No extra drivers needed. The only down side it only works with SSD's

Was having issues with installing internal SSD’s in a Mac Pro. I bought this to see if it would format externally on said Mac Pro and a Windows laptop. The cable worked. I didn’t use the software that was included so I can’t speak to that end of the package but there’s enough of this type of software out there so whether it works or not is only of minor consequence imo.

Used this product to recover files from an old computer hard drive. File transfer speed was okay and drive was recognized by my new computer without installing the software.

I used this cable and associated software to clone my hard disk. Very easy to use, worked as advertised!!!

Bought this to clone my old laptop HDD to a new SSD that I was swapping out. This made the process very simple. Install the program, plug in the USB to the laptop, then the other end into the new drive. The program copied all files over in under 3 hours for me since I had a lot of stuff that needed to be transferred over. Once done, all i needed to do was swap out the old drive for the new drive. Didn't need a second computer or anything. Had no issues.

I got this on the recommendation from a friend. One day I came home and found when I turned my PC on a blue screen. The Danged "Blue Screen of Death" I found no cure. A friend told me to get one of these and connect it to my hard drive after I removed it and I was able to access all my files and it didn't cost me hundreds of dollars to have it fixed. The PC was a few years old, so I dumped it and copied everything to my new PC. Thank you
