As always Best Buy had what I needed. It was easy to install and works like a charm!

This product is a very good tool to transfer data. However the instructions for its use should be more detailed.

So far this product has worked well for me. Started up right out of the box, as soon as I hooked up the external hard drive to my laptop, and I was able to read all my files. Very pleased.

Easy to use product which allows you to view a laptop hard drive on your pc. Great for copying or diagnosis

4 stars is for the inconvenience of having to download the software from the manufacturer's website ( I had to wait until I could get on the internet).

I needed the USB to SATA cable to clone my internal hard drive. I thought the included software would be handy; but I have a Macbook Pro so I was able to just use the Disk Utility to clone my drive. Ultimately I probably over spent just to have a cable- but for Windows users it might be more helpful to have the CD of software.

I've used this kit several times, including for professional duties (IT support). It has always worked. Caveat: if your disk is encrypted you will have to take a couple of extra steps prepare the cloning. Plenty of help online. Also, I've always been able to clone from a large mechanical disk to a smaller SSD (as long as total used size still matches) and it also handled that perfectly.

Who knew someone had prepared a simple cable that lets a laptop drive be accessed (the H: drive on my computer) existed? One end has a normal size USB; the other a multi pin SATA. NO external power is required. I used it to move files on and off the drive, and eventually to format it. A critical tool for the recovery of my computer after a failed boot drive.

It was easy to use and worked flawlessly. Keep in mind it only works with laptop drives.

I have never had it so easy to transfer data from one drive to another. It worked flawlessly the first time.

Never used this device before. Spoke with best buy employee and advised me that device would accomplish what I need to do. Simple instructions everything transferred without a problem.

Got this to go through hard drives from old computers I took apart, and now using it to continuously keep one of them attached to a USB hub. Excellent USB 3.0 transfer speeds and incredibly easy to use, you only need to plug the cable into the drive and a USB port to browse/use a hard drive, the disc is a nice addition but not necessary.

Upgraded 5 year old desktop in a snap. First doubled RAM, then simply connected from USB 3.0 to new SSD, then installed it in existing space in HP computer. Booted up pretty quick. Out of pocket was under $100 total. Decided to go with 500GB SSD and leave the 1 TB HD unconnected inside because we were using a under 200GB anyway.

It was easy to use, reasonably priced, and made cloning my old hard to my new SSD easy! I'm so happy about the ease of upgrading my friends old (2008) MacBook Pro that I'm going to do the same to my 2012 MacBook Pro. He swears that runs better now than when it was brand new. I also doubled his RAM from 4GB to 8GB!

It is easy and fast. I was looking to connect my hard to my computer and this the easy way to connect.

The hardware/software worked perfectly, but when I tried to boot from my newly created SSD, the system showed an error that required the Win 8 system install disk (I did not need the Win 8 install key) to fix. I found all the info doing an online search and now my laptop boots lightning fast and allows window switching without lag.

I had my external hard drive setting around for a year thinking that there's no way I can get my stuff out. Then this little cable solved the whole thing. Fast 3.0 file transfer.

I am so glad I upgraded the hard disk drive to this sweet solid state drive. This cable really helped the process. It's blazing fast and a simple upgrade to speed up the computer.
