Very easy to use with my Macbook! I just plugged in my HD and plugged in the USB and it worked instantly!

Easy to use and easy transfer A little pricey for what it does!

My laptop died. It was cheaper to buy a new one then replace the motherboard. I needed a way to transfer the files from the hard drive to the new computer. This item did the trick. I removed the hard drive from my old laptop plugged in the cable, connected to the USB of my new laptop and poof, H Drive popped up and I was able to quickly transfer the entire contents to a folder on my new system. I plan on using this for back-up purposes in the future.

I am not as "tech savy" as I used to be. When I first saw this product, I was not too sure that it would do what I needed it to do. However, it was not too pricey. I took a chance. Since the purchase, I have been able to transfer data for other people using this product. It's very intuitive and not difficult to use. If you can master, or know how to, drag and drop - you will be able to use this product.

I found it was fast and easy to use. I was able to clone my drives with no problems.

The cable worked great for plugging in sata drives to clone or get info off of a drive. The software did not work for cloning, updates to the latest version and it still didn’t work. So if you just need the cable it’s 5 stars.

I had this product before . Had to upgrade to this software to use it for win 7. Worked great. I wish it came with other adapters to use the product to use it on other laptop type of drives. But it did it's job. recommend this software highly.

This is the best and fastest USB 3.0 SATA cable I've owned. The HDD failed. Connected the HDD to a Linux unit. Linux saw the HDD and I was able to recover everything. I recovered 120 Gigs of data in 1 Hr. I was copying the Document, Picture, Music, Video and Desktop folders. I clicked on a folder to copy, and it was copied in no time. If I were you, I would purchase this cable. Thank You.

Water got spilled into the keyboard of my laptop. Here I was with a hard drive full of valuable data. Some of it hadn't been backed up. I needed a way to connect it up to my working computer. I found the Apricorn data transfer cable. A very knowledgeable Best Buy associate confirmed my choice. It was simple to use. It accomplished my goal. And now I use it, with the old 500 GB hard drive, to back up both my systems. Couldn't be happier.

Many different methods are available for external drive connection. This was very quick and convenient to use in support of an client requiring very quick turn-around. College student had their newish laptop "trashed" by their loving pet. The price was reasonable and the USB 3 connectivity saved the day. No need to tell the professor "I had the paper finished but my dog trashed my computer"

I needed something to get pictures and other files off a "dead" acer computer. I did not want to pay someone to do it for me. This cable was exactly what I needed. I didn't use the disk so I am not sure what that is for. I just plugged the old hard drive into one end of the cable and the other end in the USB port of my new laptop. I didn't have very many files so it took me less than an hour to get everything I needed.

I cant say that I enjoyed the price tag on this item that much, however it did get the job done.

Purchased this to replace a slow notebook hard drive with a faster one. It was simple to clone the drive to the new one and with the USB 3 connection it was quick as well.

At work, the IT department switches out computers routinely to make sure the engineering Department is not hampered with slow machines. I used this device to attach the old hard drive to the new computer so that I could retain and reuse data from that drive

Software was easy to install. Cord could be a tad bit longer. It did exactly what the salesperson told us it would do, so no complaints.
