I had a solid slate drive that I couldn’t install and just forgot about it, wasn’t until my husband he wanted to update his laptop to a solid slate drive that ai started to research what was needed. Once I purchased this cable the drive was now being detected on the computer/ laptop. I do recommend this product.

It did exactly what it was supposed to do, so I am pleased with the product, just wish I could return it after only needing it once.

I used this for 2 reasons 1) to recover my files off the HDD of my laptop after the registry of windows was damaged, and then upgraded the disk form 500 Mg to 1 Tb. It did every thing it said it would do. it went smoothly and fast. It helped take me from disaster to better working laptop in a couple hours. I recommend it for both recovery and upgrade to bigger hdd.

My laptop hard drive was dying according to SMART monitoring. I bought a new laptop hard disk and plugged it into this cable. I booted from the included CD and plugged the other end of the cable into the laptop USB port. The transfer went smoothly over a few hours. Then I swapped the hard drives and the laptop booted up on the new hard disk with all my old OS, data, and apps on it. Very simple.

Was a bit expensive but did exactly what I needed it to do. Would have been better if the included disc had a program for cloning MacBook Pro hard drive as well as Windows but i was able to download and use Carbon Copy Cloner for my MacBook Pro which worked fine

Connected a WD Scorpio drive that was partioned. It only recognized the drive letters and wanted to format all other partitions. There was existing data on the other drives. All I intended to do was copy system files over to new drive. Did not work as expected. This may work for a new drive but not an existing one.

I needed a way to attach an old laptop drive to my PC via USB. I really did not want one of those big clunky docks and was a bit surprised when this cable said it powered the drive from the USB port. But it does, kind of nice to be able to just toss a little cable in the junk drawer and use it when need.

I use these to switch back and forth between various SSDs I have for 4K video file storage. They are fast and reliable, and allow the use of internal SSDs without an enclosure. Highly recommend if you are careful with SSDs and have a safe place to store them. If you are clumsy, get an enclosure for each SSD or you will probably break something eventually.

My hard drive boot sector failed and with this cable I was able to retrieve all of my data very easily.

Was impatient with the online order - so went down here and picked up this item with a CD- Was easier than the one Generic cable I ordered from other places - this one does the job - Kinda had a hard time getting Acronis working at the time - this one seemed easier and it worked

This comes with a CD with program to Format, Backup your Primary HD, It can make copy of Boot HD of your system. This does take a few hours if you have a large HD using USB 2, but it gets the job done. Having an USB 3 will cut the time by more than 70% vs 2.0 - Included in package is a USB cable that plugs into a SATA 2.5" drive

It does what it needs to do well. Simply plug your HDD, plug it into the USB and let Windows set it up. I was able to recover files from my old laptop HDD...but just be aware you will need to open the permissions in the HDD because they belong to a different system, you can find out how from an internet search.

I saw this online, when I as in the store the price was double, I mentioned to the sales person and they were to price match the online price. As most laptop these days mine had no CD drive, so I downloaded the software from the website. Plugged everything in and in less than 15 mins I had a copy of my current hard drive. Couldn't have easier!

This data transfer cable allowed me to do a migration from my new computer's hard drive to my new solid state 1Tb hard drive before installing it, to make sure it works. (A previous one did not, and after 6 1/2 hours of trying, I decided it was a defective drive.) I now am also able to move the drive from one computer to another, if I so desire.

I bought the generic one that's recommended on Amazon and it didn't work. I stopped by Best Buy after being fed up with that version and found this gem. I was able to clone my drive in no time at all and it all worked perfectly. Would I pay full retail again knowing I had a working product vs reading reviews? You bet I would!

Worked great, very painless to upgrade my wife's laptop to a solid state drive and squeeze some more life from it. Software was easy to use.
