This was a great purchase for my husband. It's reliable and you can't beat the price.

Used it to copy my old Windows 7 laptop's hard drive onto a bigger one, replacing the Windows 8 installation already there. And let's be honest, anything that can make an extra Windows 7 Installation and gets rid of a Windows 8 one is worth buying.

I used it to copy of everything from my desktop HD to a SSD and then replaced the HD with the SSD and everything worked great. Powered up with the new SSD and would not even know that it was a different device. Just make sure the of the connectors that are the same on both devices.

Saved my butt when it recovered lost data from a failed SATA drive. IT worked quickly compared to most recovery software. You need a drive to copy to though. I bought a laptop HDD and used it as my temp storage and now have a backup drive. Cable supplies all power needed for the drive and data xfer. Awesome little rig!

Reviewed several options and finally found a cheaper solution to replace my laptop hard drive.

I did my search to how replace an internal hard drive my self because some stores they want to charge over $200 dls. For clone you hard drive, after that find out about this product and how easy is to do it by you self, I did not pay over $30 dls. Compare those $200 that this guys want to charge.

This product serves it's advertised purpose without any associated issues. The Plug and Play functionality provides ease of use and allows the users quick access to the data stored on the hard drive in question. Great product. I would recommend to anyone that has a need to retrieve data from a hard drive no longer in use.

Got the job done. Ended up not using the software just needed the cable. If you don't need the software, you can find cheaper cables.

I have never replaced a hard drive on my MacBook Pro laptop before and certainly never tried a SSD upgrade until now. Being able to use this device and make a copy of my original hard drive before removing it from the laptop was just what the proverbial doctor ordered. Worked like a champ!

After years of having problems transferring information this product makes it extremely easy.

The cable was great. It allowed me to preload Win 10 onto the SSD I purchased. But the cloned 1TB Hard Drive would NOT boot the computer. So skip the software, buy the cable.

This data transfer cable comes with a software CD that helps you clone your preexisting laptop hard drive into new hard drive. I used it to upgrade my old mid 2012 MacBook Pro by exchanging a new SSD drive. Follow the instruction and its so easy to get the intended result. Highly recommended.

It is sold separately which is kinda lame, but it is necessary (unless you are swapping out the hard drive in your laptop, OR you have built in cables from both your power supply AND the motherboard). It also makes it so you could use an internal SSD as an external and save some money.

I was ready to upgrade my 3 systems to SSD storage but had no desire to make it a day long project for each system. Enter Apricorn. Insert CD, start program, reimage HDD to SDD. Swap out drives. Done.

worked right out of the box and was able to completely transfer a failing drive into the replacement drive. The software isn't required but makes it easier to transfer all of the files.

I can't comment on the software as I was just using the cable to backup files that I needed to save. I did a clean install instead of cloning my drive. The cable did work great though. Fast transfer speeds.
