My laptop crashed and I used this device to access the memory to pull off some much needed data for a college course I was in. It saved me time and the effort of having to start over on a research paper!

My old Macbook pro broke and I took out the drive and used this data transfer directly to the drive and then into my new MacBook Pro. It did not take long to transfer and everything transferred over seamelessly. I now use it to back up files from my new computer to the old drive.

Can read hdd as usb storage not too safe for host if hdd has virus also no encryption support only good for .500mw hdd xmything bigger and won't work so to usb power supply limits. great for makeshift usb storage of old hdd

This transfer cable is very fast and convient for cloning of HD to SSD. But, the cost of this product is way out of line for a low usage component. Please lower the price.

I've heard certain online stores include cloning software, and cables with their Samsung ssds. Barring that, this kit did the trick cloning my Toshiba 5 terrabyte harddrive. Then again my harddrive was less than 100gb full. I would recommend this kit to anyone.

Used it to transfer data from one drive to the other. The software is very helpful. Old drive had some problems and it wasn't working with Samsung free transfer app and this did the trick. So happy!

Use this to migrate hdd to ssd on macbook pro.....the software is Windows only so I only used hardware.....Use other software for Mac.....Very long book time when ssd was swapped in for hdd but that may have been a software problem

My dell laptop didn't have a hard drive to change out. I didn't know until after I bought this and a hard drive. However, I did use it to format the new drive and it was very easy to use. Too bad I didn't need it.

Very happy with this device. It helped me turn my old laptop Hard drives into portable storage devices. It also helped me abstract my old photographs and videos from other old Hard drives.

I have not utilized the included software. However the cable works perfect for plug and play connectivity of the old SATA drive that I replaced in my Mac Mini to transfer files manually.

I needed to connect another ssd to my Lenovo yoga 910 as I am building hyper v labs on the system. I didn't want to install it internal as I needed an as needed solution only. This cable worked for connecting an external ssd to the system no frills.

What an easy way to clone your drive. Used this on 4 computers all work will easy.

The setup instructions are very simple. Once you connect the SSD to the cable and the cable to the laptop USB port, let the software take over. From that point it is automatic. No issues. Simple.

It comes with disk imaging software. it makes it easy to use disk images as backups instead of using products like Acronis or other software that costs more and requires a boot repair disk.

I brought a SSD drive that I wanted to use in my laptop. While I had dual ports in my laptop, I was having problems that would not allow me to take out the one drive for the SSD drive. So I popped this beauty on and was able to take care of business. While it comes with a CD, it was not necessary for me to use any of it, so I cannot comment on the cloning software that comes with it. I have some extra laptop drives that I can now use as an external drive with this. Just pop the drive on, and plug it into a USB port, and take off. The pros of this over an enclosure is the fact there is nothing to screw in and keep track of. The USB 3 is a plus. Just make sure you have explosives or the Hulk™ on standby to get it out of the packaging.

bought this at the recommendation of the clerk. would have been cheaper just taking it to a comp shop which i did. unfortunately i had already opened this item and could not return it.
