Works very well to attach a hard drive quickly and transfer content. A bit pricey but worth the long haul.

The Apricorn Data Transfer Cable (USB 3 to SATA 2.50") along with the software disk makes cloning your hard drive or transferring data to an external hard drive very easy. The software guides you through the process and allows you to exclude any files you may not want to transfer. I used the cable and software to clone my Dell Inspiron laptop hard drive to a new Solid State Drive. Everything worked smoothly, and when I installed the new SSD the laptop booted up and ran without a problem. Only my Norton 360 Anti-virus software needed to be re-installed because the system didn't recognize the Norton verification code.

I needed a cable to migrate my laptop to a SSD, and this one came with its own migration software, which is normally an extra $40. I wasn't expecting much, as my last migration had a lot of problems that required me in the end to reinstall Windows 10. However, the software copied everything over in minutes, and when I rebooted after swapping the drives, Windows came up like nothing had happened. It's a whole new computer now with the SSD installed.

I've got a friend that use this and it works well for them. Bought one when I had a drive go down. No matter what I did, it did not work out of the box. Took the drive to a friend with the same unit and his worked on the same drive, so I ended up with a defective unit and took it back. Used my friend's, but have not purchased another one for me. Gave it better than bad ratings just because his worked. Don't know if I would recommend one or not.

Does a great job I got these to connect to my external hard dive for my steam machine so I can boot windows on it and it's very fast and no problems with it.

The apricorn data transfer cable is good. It does it's job. I had not issue.

This data transfer cable worked well. The only thing you have to remember is to download the disk so that the transfer will work.

Cable works as it should. All I wanted was the cable but Best Buy didn't sell the cable separately and that's the reason for 4 stars vs 5 stars.. I did not use the software that came with the cable as the Samsung SSD cloning software worked great. So, I cannot comment on that software's ease of use. If your PC has USB 3.0, cloning a 1TB drive takes an hour or so.. If you have USB 2.0 it will take a lot longer. My cloning on a 1TB SSD going through USB 2.0 took around 6hrs.

No problems encountered when transferring hard drive data. The software easily recognized different SSDs and the transfer was flawless.

I was using the old.plug in kind before and now i can just plug in and go !! Love it
