The local store had a similar cable for sale without any software and for a substantially higher price. When I went to Best Buy the kid who helped me pointed me to this product and gave me advice on how to use it. I bought this in order to clone a hard drive in a first generation core i5 laptop to a solid state drive. This was an old laptop. Its boot time was in the two minute range. Now it boots in 20 seconds. Thanks Best Buy.
