I purchased this for backing up a laptop drive taken out of the laptop. Later I tried to use it for my desktop drive out of the tower but could not power the drive on it's own. I was disappointed but re-reading the package insert it was designed only foe smaller laptop drives.

I bought an SSD HD and when I came home I found out that it needed to be prepped through this cable and the software included. The BB rep could have told me when advising the SSD HD. Besides that,... great stuff, you only need to use use once,...

After my PC died, a technician suggested that since it wouldn't even attempt to boot that it was probably the bios or the mother bolard meaning that my hard drives were probably still good. Using this device I was able to access my data after removing the hard drive from the PC

Purchased a Samsung SSD for my Macbook Pro (early 2011) and use this to restore my hard drive. Very fast and clean. From start to finish it took ~ 20 minutes. And my Macbook screams now it is wicked fast! If you get a new HD this is what you also need to make the job a breeze!

I actually didn't use and returned this, because it looked great in the store i brought home another with an enclosure -- liked this one a lot, but just wasn't sure about the SSD being exposed. Certainly, with great packaging and design, it woo'ed me.

I guess the product does what it is supposed to do. It didn’t work on my pc like the rep said it would. This product is only for a laptop.

This did what I needed but the software is a little buggy and it took a couple attempts before getting it to run. Once I got the software running it worked well.

The cable did exactly what it was supposed to do, with no problems. Came with software, but I did not use it because the hard drive I was installing also had software. I just hate that I had to buy the cable for one use.

Had some problems at first because drives weren't showing up in Windows Explorer, but it turned out I needed to use the Windows "Disk Management" tool to create a partition on the disk. (I was using it on an SSD and it didn't have any partitions)

Easy product to use. Unfortunately for me I waited too long. The product tried to do it's job but my hard drive had bad sectors and it could not complete the process.

Doesn't get much simpler than this. Plug in 2.5" SSD/HDD in one end, USB side into a USB 3.0 port, and read/write/clone away. Having many drives from older laptops, it comes in very handy.

I tried the product and for some reason, it never was able to detect any devices connected to it. I regretfully never contacted support to troubleshoot the issue. Opted for a quicker solution at that time.

I wanted to simple USB to SATA cable to power up old CD drives and HDDs, but seems like this product was designed for something else.

i have bought multiples of these cables because I would mistakenly leave them at client houses. But these come in handy to test out a hard drive or format it before putting it in. The price fits for the worth

It's cheap and works, but the software is junk, and overall I do not recommend. Does not work with all older hard drives.

I replaced my 9 year old Whirlpool Cabrio (that was still working just wanted a new one)! It's more quiet than the older one and seems to vibrate less. Just got it delivered today and have already done 2 loads. Love it!

The Apricorn Data Transfer cable worked well and made the whole exercise a breeze. Not bulky & works with SATA III speed as long as you have comparable USB ports. This makes transfers much faster to complete.

Worked great for the In-a-pinch hard drive swap. Originally, I used Belena-Etcher it the cable, which worked fine, But the software definately did a good job too.

not exactly what i needed at this day and age for me to transfer all my music from one hard drive to the other but it ended up working ... dont move the cord too much otherwise it will disconnect from the hdmi port

Can’t complain made moving my old laptop drive to a new portable drive a two step process. If you plan on moving other drives such as old desktop drives I suggest getting a more complete drive mover kit.
