Accessing even the most basic functionality requires paying for a costly subscription, making the already expensive hardware feel misleadingly marketed. Even after paying extra, the video quality is only average and the audio is unclear and inconsistent. Considering the high overall cost, the performance is disappointing and noticeably inferior to what many competing products offer.

Arlo cameras do not require a subscription to access basic features such as live streaming and motion or audio notifications. However, subscribing unlocks additional features, including 60-day Video History, Advanced Object Detection, Activity Zones, 24/7 Emergency Response, and more.

Solid camera for price point

Reason for the 4 star is that video feed is pretty cumbersome to use. Thats more the Arlo app I think, but it's relevant to buying the product.

Connections are on the bottom with a rubber cover. Camera is 2k for good clarity, battery powered and with a spotlight option. It does have 2 way audio, night vision and a decent field of view. Set up was easy as it was added to my Arlo hub and one existing camera. Packing includes mounting screws and bracket. One of my immediate gripes is that the bracket has no adjustment at all. Only a very straight mount, no tilt or swivel. It was useless for where I wanted to mount the camera. I will have to find some sort of flexible mount that will hopefully use the same size screw. My other issue, was it doesn't seem to want to use the local storage of my Arlo hub. I could find no information on this or how to make it work. It seems to work, but no recording to the local hub. This is a nice camera, will good video results, even with the mentioned short comings. The 2 way audio works, be it not as clear as i'd like it to be. The spot light does a decent job as does the night vision. I will say that I can turn off night vision and the camera still does well which is good. Battery life so far, is decent. Its not in my preferred mounting area as I explore backet options, but even with high traffic, its been good.
