Sometimes they connect sometime not. I also have the earlier model and they connect fine, these are junk. Please know that all of the spotlight models turn on the spotlight when live viewing at night, or they sense motion regardless of settings. Arlo says that you cannot change this feature. That feature is stupid , it lets anyone out there know that the camera is there and exactly where the camera is. Guess I will paint over the spotlight since reselling these on ebayis a joke at 25 bucks a peice - which says how much they are really worth. The battery also sucks, on avg after about 4wks they need recharged. They are lithium so I dont let them go below 50%. I did finally put them on solar, still junk though
