This is more or less the same thing as the Arlo Q I bought a few years ago, but at less than half of the price! Quality wise it's still very nice and now has a privacy cover that will be closed when the camera is disarmed. The stand is however no longer magnetic compared to the Arlo Q, so it won't be able to stick to steel like before.

This Arlo Essential Indoor Camera is all about image quality and software. I have the camera facing the front door to the house covering the door and 4 windows where someone may be able to gain access. The image has always been clear and every person or animal that comes in view of the camera is immediately recognizable. The best parts about the Arlo are the features. There are so many security features built into the software and with a recurring month to month payment you can have access to all of them including emergency response from fire or police department. You can even trigger a really loud siren that emits from the camera when you get an alert of someone passing by the camera(this one is free). Motion alerts are very sensitive but you can adjust alerts to only people if your dog or other pets pass by too often such as mine does. The physical camera also has a privacy shield that when activated covers the lens and mutes audio. Also note that audio can trigger an alert to your phone if you want it. The great thing about the Arlo app and software is the ability to highlight exactly which motion is detected by placing a green box around the person or animal that it detected passing by so you know exactly where to look. The downside to Arlo is having to upgrade to a paid version if you want to use all the features including a timeline of the days events caught on the camera. At this time, you only get to view the alert one time and the rest is saved to the cloud which is restricted by a pay wall. The subscription is cheap however and definitely worth it to protect your home. If you ever need to, two way audio is available as a free feature for this camera but note that there is about a 1-2 second delay and the "live" video is not actually live. Overall, the Arlo covers basically every feature that one would need in an indoor security camera. I would highly recommend.

Arlo is the first and only brand of camera we use for our home. We have a total of three Arlo cameras, and two of them are the Essential Indoor Cameras. These cameras are a breeze to install. I can monitor my house from anywhere while I work, run errands, and spend time away from home. I highly recommend Arlo cameras!

Total Tech tried to install the Arlo Indoor Camera and couldn’t. The team said it was defective. We returned the defective camera and got a new one. We booked an appointment with Total Tech. Total Tech was successful with the install. The camera works and fits our needs.

I owned several Arlo Outdoor cameras, so when I needed indoor devices, I naturally bought these. Other than being VERY balky to get connected (it too LOTS of restarts!!) I am pleased with their performance.

I was looking for something small to point towards my back door and monitor the doggie door, this camera is perfect for it, also it has an automatic privacy shield that will come on when the camera isn’t active

Had to look online for best directions to set up. Works well. Like the camera eye cover that can be set to be closed unless motion occurs. Clear video and sound recordings.

I bought the indoor camera to replace an old indoor camera that was no longer going to be supported by another service. This was easy to add to my existing plan and has a great, clear picture!

Got this camera to mostly keep an eye on the dogs while we’re away, and so far I’ve been happy with it. The image is decent quality for the price.

I got this camera because it works with HomeKit. The set up process over Wi-Fi was a pain. It would get caught up in an update loop but I finally got it set up. But then I still couldn’t use it as the camera would take forever to show feed. After doing some research I bought a hub pro. Once I got the hub set up and reset up the camera everything worked great. Though it says the camera works over Wi-Fi it is best to get a hub for this type of camera.

This camera works great. With setting up timed schedule and geo-location, it only opens the privacy shield when we want it to. So far we have no complaints with this model.

I like this camera due to easy to use. It connects to any Internet without a HUB. That makes flexible and can put camera anywhere as long as has Internet.

Great picture quality. The camera was very easy to set up using the Arlo app. I like that the camera has a privacy shield that can be activated when I’m home.

I bought the camera to put in the garage and its really a good value for the price. The video and sound quality is really good and it picks up the slightest movements also. The only thing I can complain about is I wish it can record in color when its pitch dark. The setup was pretty tricky for me as I had a hard time getting the camera to read the bar code on my cell phone. I eventually got it to read but after about 30 minutes of trying. So far no complaints though and I would recommend this others looking for a security camera.

Review for Arlo - Essential Indoor Camera - Indoor Wired 1080p Wi-Fi Security Camera - White This is my first Arlo device, so I may be slower than familiar users, but this was an easy setup right out of the box. The camera is small, light, and unobtrusive. It comes with a mounting plate, if you want a more permanent installation on a wall or surface. It comes with a built-in shutter “privacy” cover which is easy to open and close with the Arlo app. Connecting to Wifi was quick and easy, and since it’s hardwired and plugged into an outlet, there’s no concern about batteries running down. I was impressed by the wide angle field of view (130º!) and the clear sharp HD image. This is an indoor-only camera, but that’s how I plan to use it, so it’s perfect.

My Arlo Essential indoor camera was easy to setup and it’s has an amazing picture. Arlo is the most reliable wire-free system I have used.

Decent price with the highest quality. If you wait during holiday seasons, you could get this for like $60
