now understand why Arlo is so well reviewed across tech blogs. Setup was quick and intuitive, and the camera itself is attractive. Interface is sleek but could use a little polish with regards to menus - it usually took me a few clicks to find what I’m looking for. Overall very happy with the purchase. One downside is the inability to create different houses within the same account if you have multiple cameras in different geographic locations.

At this point every company seems to want in on the home security pie. To skip to the summary, I’d recommend picking one ecosystem and just sticking to it. For us, we’ve used Arlo Pros from the 2nd gen on, so we’re pretty invested. That being said, we initially chose Arlo because the app is easy to navigate, the video quality is solid, and the battery life was solid. The Essential Indoor is wired, which makes sense since it’s not IP rated nor designed to be used outside. I don’t want to have to pop the camera off every few weeks to exchange the battery. The camera synced seamlessly with our app and joined the group. Everything works as advertised. Easy.

Great camera to help me check in on my pets while I am at work

I love the features of this camera especially the actual visible lens cap closing when you don’t need it. It also has a button on the app that lets you sound the built in alarm. Minus those features it’s pretty much like any other WiFi camera. The Arlo app is great and easy to connect and navigate. The reason for 4/5 stars is the price. I think there are cameras out there with the same quality and features for almost half the price of this one.

I initially purchased 3 essential indoor cameras and one hub. One of the cameras and the hub would not initiate. I returned those, but the 2 cameras that do work properly are pretty great. I can check the feed with my Arlo phone app. Be advised that this requires a good power supply and w-fi. If either was interrupted, they would be of little use. An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) might be an option.

Easy set up, clear, clear, clear image. Excellent addition to our interior monitoring. Very simple set up. Would have provided 5 stars, however, I wish the cord that came with the camera was a little longer. Would defintely purchase this product again

Hi, I love the camera for the price. It is smart enough to detect whether a moving object is a animal (pet) or person. I had to take a star off though because of the setup issues, i.e. connecting the camera to the internet. Even though I consider myself tech savvy and the instructions were simple, it took quite a few tries to get the camera to scan in the QR code and “chime”. I followed the instructions to the letter, but the privacy shutter kept closing instead of chiming. It took about 20 minutes to final get it to work. I turned up the brightness and played with the distance as the instructions said. After that though, the indoor camera is a nice addition to our Arlo family. Now we can see what the pets are up to while we are gone. Anyways, if you are having setup issues, keep trying and the wait will be worth it.

Easy to setup and use. Already had Arlo app and install when with no problems. Resolution is much better than my old Arlo Wireless camera. Now I can place my wireless one outside giving my house greater coverage and not having to buy additional batteries all the time. Took maybe 5 minutes to setup and put it on a schedule.
