Cameras are really easy to connect to app. Easy user app. Camera quality is really clear. Spotlight doesn't stay on too long, which is something I really like. Glad I got the camera!

Very disappointed. Would not connect to wi-fi. Online support is limited to no help. For the price it is not worth the aggravation. I only wish the company could reimburse me for my time, as well as my money.

After spending hundreds of dollars on this system and a hour and a half trying to set this system up, I packed everything up and will be returning it. I could not get the cameras to sync which means it is completely useless.

Returned after seeing how bright the light was and that there isn’t an option to turn it off. I have the ARLO doorbell and hate it, all arlo’s have a delay! Spend more and get the Ring or something else!

    Best wireless out there

I absolutely LOVE these cameras. I tried to Google nest first and hated them, they were complicated to set up, and I tried some no name brand wired ones that were okay, but these are my favorite out of everything I've tried. The setup was soooo easy, they connected to my phone instantly for the smart piece, and for putting it on your wall... It doesn't matter if you place it slightly off from where you wanted (since I'm terrible at making), because (1) the view is such a wide angle, it gets both my living room and dining room which are decently sized in one shot it's so wide and (2) because the arm is adjustable! The adjustable arm is everything to me. You can tilt up, down, sideways, so even if you don't get the placement exactly right, you don't need to redrill new holes, you just have to adjust the arm. Amazing. Why doesn't every cam have this!? Also the picture is incredibly clear. I love the fact that you have the option of (1) night vision or (2) motion sensor spotlight. Easy to turn the light option off always if you have this indoors and don't want it turning on when you're just watching a movie, but so nice to have. You can also pick and choose your alerts for something like animals, people, vehicles, etc. And only get alerted for what you want. The paid version also lets you have arlo contact authorities. Overall what a great camera for the price, would 100% recommend.

OK camera BAD app & inability to share with others

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Good cameras and they do work using the app (and also via the computer interface) but they have small batteries (the XL batteries do not fit in the Pro 4), bad battery life (think 5-10 days max). You cannot set the recording time to 0, min 10 seconds....so when someone is in a zone there will be a ton of short recordings, thus burning up the batteries. The app is only ok, wonky in certain functionalities, not very refined. But the biggest issue is you cannot share with different users though it says you can...trust me you cannot! Research it yourself everyone online says the same thing! I did not believe them but found out it was true and returned my bundle and extra XL camera due to this. It shows in your account page how to add "people" (via their email) but when you do this and it sends them an email/invitatoin but then when they try to add an account (by creating an Arlo acct) it does not give them the option to see/link to the main account and see the camera. (I purchased the Arlo Secure Plus $120+ Yearly subsc.). Also you cannot even try to share without a subscription plan. If you try to get your money back for the plan is is not refundable. You cant get a live agent on phone (only a chat agent) who simply tells you you cannot get your yearly $120 back and you can only ride out the year/no refunds. I am a 20+ year IT pro and I tried everything! Thee is no way to share this app/camera viewing with others...this app/platform only lets you use it with one phone/person....whomever paid for the subscription & set it up! And no you cannot simply let someone use your UN PW as it only allows 1 person in the app per account/subscription....I tried this many times. Do not buy this if you want to share access with others.

This is a quality security camera with decent night vision. The motion detection is significantly better than the Arlo doorbells. Product works great with solar panel.

    Arlos are great cameras

I've been a user for several years now of Arlo cameras. I've got a mix of Pro and Pro 2 cameras for a total of 10 cameras. I pay the annual subscription to support the 10 cameras, get 30 days of recordings, and use the smart motion detection (animal, package, person, etc.) I've also got two base stations spread out to give me a pretty wide range around my house. I live out in the country so I use these to monitor my gate/mailbox area, barn stalls, and basically most areas around the outside of my house. I've tried a few other cheaper brands, but the Arlos have been the most reliable. When I saw the new spotlight camera, I thought I'd give it a try for my driveway parking area. Spotlight is a bit of an exaggeration as it's just a couple of bright LED lights. However, it does light things up well in the 10-15 foot range. The infrared view does have a little better range, but if you need to know the color of clothes someone's wearing then this is a great solution for night. I do miss the magnetic mount capability that my other cameras have. This one requires using the threaded mount that you need to screw into to something. For my parking area, that's fine, but I have made a lot of use of the magnetic mount to easily put cameras on my gate and on T-posts to cover various areas. It's also then easy to pull them off to charge the battery. But, depending on your application, this may not be a factor. If I was afraid of someone walking off with the camera, I'd definitely want the thread mount. The video quality and function is just as good as my other Arlos. It was super easy to link up to my hub and I had it recording in a few minutes. It also came with a 3-month trial of the smart recording service so you can try that out if you don't already have it. You can also use the camera over WiFi without the hub, but I don't plan to use it that way. The two-way audio is another nice feature, but not one that I use in my particular application. 99% of my visitors are the 4-legged variety so we don't talk much. The integrated siren is also an additional feature over my existing cameras. It's definitely loud enough to be noticed by the intruder, but I'm not sure it's loud enough to attract a neighbor's attention unless they're very close by. The Arlo cameras might be a little more expensive than others, but I've found them to be reliable and well worth the money. Plus, the Essential series is quite a bit more affordable so that could be a good way to try them out and see if you like them before going all in like I have.
