Simple. Easy to install. The light is a little faint for the area I’m monitoring but that is not a fault of the cam. What I don’t like is the activity zone can only be drawn by 4 points thereby only drawing in squares / rectangles. Unlike Ring you can have several points and can be more precise with the area you’re trying to monitor.

Easy to install. Easy to use. The only thing that sucks is battery life. Depending on how often it’s on the battery drains quickly. I recharge about every 2 weeks and only keep them on at night. Getting license plate numbers at night sucks. The night-light lights up enough to see what’s going on. Definitely a peace of mind.

Arlo cameras are great. Their picture quality is great. Installation was easy and software installation easy. Unfortunately they do not work in my situation. I bought them for a small retail store and they just didn’t work well. Battery life was to short.

This essential version of the Arlo Cameras has to be the best bang for the buck camera for around $100. Me and my family have been using Arlo cameras since the very first models and these essentials blow them all out of the water. The picture quality is great even if it is 1080p and the night vision works great with the integrated spot light. The wireless range and battery life is great. If I had any bad remarks is it stinks the battery isn't removable but honestly that's easily over looked now that Arlo has a solar panel that's half the cost of the what the original was.

Easy to install and gives a good picture but it doesn't sense my 20 pound dog and I assume that holds for other small animals. That's disappointing because I installed it to see if raccoons were bothering my chickens at night. Also the app is a bit confusing.

Great camera. The quality of the picture is very good, much better than the version I bought a few years ago, even at night. Connecting to our existing Arlo system was easy.

If you must only get 2 cameras for the external front and back of your house, I highly suggest the Arlo Pro 3 floodlight cam and this budget-friendly essential 1080p camera. It works as it's intended to with good quality provided it's got quite a good wi-fi signal. This one is being powered by the essential solar power panel (sold separately) although it seems to have good battery life due in most part to the fact that the rear of our house has little human, animal and obviously vehicle traffic. Now, it hardly...if at all...rains here in LA so I won't be able to attest to its weather durability although this little cam has been to some bad heatwaves recently and never quit working. Please also refer to my Arlo Pro 3 floodlight camera review for more parallel information and personal thoughts between that camera and this one.

I wanted to try the Arlo single security camera after reading several product reviews about the quality of this product. Boy, was I disappointed. First, when I took the camera out of the box, the battery must have been at zero power. It must have sat on the shelf for months, and the battery discharged itself. The flashing blue light to connect kept turning off quickly. Second, I could not get to the app with the recommended 2G connection. After following the steps to setup the app on my iPad or Android phone, it just kept searching and searching. Also, the blue blinking light on the camera would shut down quickly while the app was still searching for the camera. I charged the battery for several hours and tried again to no avail. I don't know if it's a bad camera, but trying to get the Arlo to connect just consumed my patients, so I boxed it up for an exchange for a Blink single camera, which is cheaper than the Alro. I know many people who use Blink cameras, and I have helped them connect to the wifi and the app. Not one single camera was ever faulty to the point of a failed connection. Blink is a one-two-three easy setup. Also, Blink cameras hold up better in the extremely cold winter months when you add the protective cover. Alro says in its directions that it may not work well in very cold weather conditions. So I'm going back to Blink. The cloud service is cheaper, and the Blink cameras just connect to the app and WiFi like they're supposed to.

The major bonus of this device is it is rechargeable and arlo does not require subscription to use most of the camera's features. The downside is the battery does not last all that long and if its set up in a tall location, it can be annoying pulling it down every week or less to recgarge.

For as little as this is, we can here the siren pretty much through the house. The 1080p camera is a plus and when the light comes on things are in color instead of black and white. Great little camera.

Cameras a nice 1080p pic. Took a little to connect to WiFi. Battery could last a lot longer - I get 2 months on average with constant motion record. Not a fan of the monthly subscription fees involved. Love the spotlight feature.

Pretty good camera for a busy street. Captures lots of movement. Beware to not have trees or plants in front of it because it'll catch when they move with the wind.
