The set up is not the easiest and required 2 exchanges but the product is just what I was looking for. I want an image of "suspicious" activity recorded on my phone, in real time, without additional monthly charge. Arlo is modestly priced and does what I want--reliability. It has a great battery life and thus avoids wires.

Unless you plan on paying an ongoing subscription this camera is useless. Informations says you can store “local” recordings but you may need a separate base station. Even if you can get it to record locally it is limited recording capabilities. The 5gb “7day” recordings they used to offer is no more offered. While the 5gb “7day” is still provided, it is probable a matter of time before that goes away. The early generational cameras will eventually become obsolete. I was told upon purchase this would be the same as my old cameras and still record the same. It was not described on the box. If it needed a subscription, I would not have purchased. This camera is now a piece of equipment I can view through but not record unless you have a subscription. If you intend on purchasing a subscription then this camera is fine. Long battery life is good. I am looking into another system brand.

Worth the "Deal of the Day" but did not meet my expectations.

Easy install but i paid for multiple camera service and the 3rd camera wont connect

These cameras work great! They pick up animals and humans. The only downside is if it is really windy they chime when my wreaths or flags move. But it is not that big a deal

I purchased this camera for my video system for home protection

Great picture and light. Battery last a good while on a charge. I would recommend buying this product every model i have owned has treated me good and the prices are reasonable. Works great indoor and outdoor.

This camera is exactly what we was looking!! It let us know that a person is detected (plus birds and cats lol). I love all the features such as the light that come on automatically at night if someone approaches door. I would recommend this.

Took cameras out of box and none would connect to wifi. I also bought a box of Arlo Pro and they all work fine, so I know it was not user error.

This is an excellent system. We have a system a few years older that has the hub station. This one doesn’t require that. It’s an easy set up, easy to use system. Cameras are great.

I like but only has one problem you can’t see the videos if you no buy a plan

It’s an okay security cam for 1080p. The resolution isn’t the best if you have poor internet connection in certain places, that’s one of the reasons why I gave it a 4 star. The other reason is because of the notifications. I receive them like crazy. There’s motion detection, animal detection, and person detection, but wish we had the option to choose our preferences. Other than that it’s ok :)

I am very pleased with my purchase. The cameras are working as I expected them to do. Not difficult to learn the system if you know about electronics. My grandson installed and showed me what to do. I would recommend this system for a purchase.

I am so happy with this product. Simple and effective. What more can you ask for. Easy to install Easy to set up. Easy to program. I have already recommended this product to friends who have already installed them and are also very happy.

The Arlo Essential Camera is a good wireless camera. It works well, but it’s not perfect. It claims to get 6 months on a charge, but the battery tends to drain rather fast. Perhaps the distance and the amount of walls between the base station and the camera can cause battery drain. It does a good job of detecting motion and sending you an alert. It shows a thumbnail of the motion it detected for the notification on my iPhone and Apple Watch. The spotlight is a nice addition, which also helps in making it easier for the camera to record motion with better visibility. Colored night vision is an added plus. My biggest gripe is the amount of time it takes to view a live video feed. It stays stuck on “Connecting...” for at least 15-20 seconds, and sometimes longer. I’m thinking it has something to do with the servers they are using for Arlo, because I have older Arlo cameras that do the same thing. Relatives who also have an Arlo system, complain about how long it takes for live view to appear. Hopefully that is something they can work on. Overall, it’s a good system without having the need to run wires.

These cameras are great. There was an internet issue I had where I had to set up the cameras twice in the app, but the second time was the charm and they’ve been working perfectly ever since! Love the built in spotlight!

These are amazing and the quality is outstanding. I did quite a bit of research on cameras and I am so glad I went with these indoor/outdoor Arlo’s and I love the fact you charge them and don’t have to worry about changing batteries.
