    Wireless peace of mind

    Been using a family of wired Arlo products for several years now and recently added this wireless one to keep an eye on the front porch. It works seamlessly with the app and within my smart home setup. Battery life is surprisingly decent but I went ahead and got it’s compatible solar panel for even easier maintenance/use. Pleased that I didn’t have to buy any additional hub to operate. Overall highly recommended.

    Maybe the worst Arlo product ever. I have been using Arlo 2 cameras and video doorbell for years now. Worked perfect. Decided to extend and update my coverage with the Essentials around the house. I bought them but didnt install them immediately. By the time i install them, the return window passed. First, they didnt set up correctly out of the box. As if they had a glitch. After multiple tries, they finally worked. Then they kept going offline. Have to reset them weekly. Finally called customer service, and went back and forth with them on troubleshooting. Boy was that a pain. I consider myself tech savy, its not difficult to setup and troubleshoot these cameras. I got sick of the reps kept telling me to do the same thing over and over. The. Said my internet is the problem. My internet service and devices in my house are superb. So i knew thats not the problem. My doorbell and Pro 2 cameras still working fine. Now im stuck with two non working Essential cameras, lost of money and time. Everytime i call support, they try to walk me through the same troubleshooting. Its ridiculous.

    Where can I start the worst camras ever we tryed to sync them to our phone at first it work but then they died so we charged one them didn’t even charge and one didn’t even turn on we tried everything to try to make them work but they didn’t turn on so we tryed to sync the other 2 but they didn’t even sync again we did we tried everything to make them Sync but the didn’t so we called customer service first they made us wait 20 minutes to get with somebody then whene we finally got with somebody they made us do everything we did again then they blamed my wifi then my phone and excepte Thaire camras then they made us wait again for 10 minutes Then thy told us to make a guest network for the camras So we told her we didn’t know how to do that so she told us to contact our internet provider for them to make a guest network they tried to make us go through all that trouble but they say it is a easy setup and they did not solve the problem of the 2 camras that didn’t work they told us to return the package of camras to the where we bought them and yea about that 1 year warranty the only respect it if they think it is necessary all they tell you is to return them to the place where you bought them. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME

    I am not a techy…but when I find new “toys” that make my life easier, I’m excited! I have a new vacation rental property and this camera mounted over the front door helps me see who is checking in and out of my property. I LOVE the talk feature where I can communicate with my guests. This camera helps me feel safer about what’s happening with my property when I can’t be there!

    Alert Notification & No Video Recording to library

    I have had this camera for about 7 days. When you purchase this camera it comes with a 3 month free trial. The initial setup was easy and the first 24h went very well. I received regular notification alerts on my cellphone and could watch all recorded videos in the app. After about 24 hours the camera stoped recording videos to the library. I still received notification alerts but the camera did not record any videos (live view was still possible). I did a full reset and the camera (only motion worked) I disconnected the device and also uninstalled the app to then have to add the device again and download app again, and still did not record video clips. I also spoke to a tech at Arlo and they told me it could be that there is a defect with the camera but they were not sure. After being on the phone with the tech and trying to trouble shoot the problem, we had no luck. Still didn't get video clips recording. This seems to be a general issue with Arlo essential, if you search in the forums you will find a lot of users reporting the same issue (alert notifications but not recordings to library). I was looking forward to this camera but I will be returning it back.
