Good color image from bright day to deep twilight. LED spotlight (switchable and dimmable) works well and is essential for areas with no overnight lighting. Built in battery (for us) lasts 2 weeks plus between charges on a busy pathway. Recharging is easy with included USB cable.

No external power required. The included rechargeable battery is estimated to last 6 month between charges! It measures a trim 3.5” x 2” X 3” and only weighs 3/4 lb. I was thrilled with the sharp, clear 1080P video quality. I view this camera both on my Google Home and my Alexa Show. It even sends alerts to my Apple Watch! This is my only security camera that produces a color image at night. The camera senses motion up to 23 feet. This covers my driveway completely, so I am immediately alerted to visitors on foot or in their car as they enter our yard. This camera has a built-in spot light, which can be activated by action. It also features 2-way voice between the person watching the phone, Google Home or Alexa Show, and the person being captured by the camera. It actually has a built-in microphone and speaker. The voice is clear, helped by built-in noise cancellation. An optional solar panel is available to keep the camera battery charged, so you never have to use the included battery charging cable. This is a very smart option, as it makes the camera completely maintenance free. CONCLUSION: I use several security camera manufacturers’ cameras inside and outside of my house. Most require 120 Volt AC power. I use this camera on the side of the house that has no power available. It is the perfect camera for this application. In fact, this weather resistant camera works so well & lasts so long on it’s battery, that I plan to buy several more Arlo Essential cameras for outside viewing. I highly recommend it.

So annoyed because my car has been vandalized before and having this camera made it more difficult for the person to continue with vandalized my vehicle. I'm waiting on a replacement from Arlo.
