They don’t last long. ! This is the third one I purchased ,very slow activating , terrible Product , the other two don’t work at all This one shows only still pictures/ live. Pivot You cannot get tight on the mounting post .

Had a friend referred me to these cameras so i got two of them.

Starting with the setup, it was fast and easy as usual, at least it always has been for me. I already have a base and two original Arlo Pro cameras and adding this gave me no issues. I linked it to the base, unscrewed & unplugged my previous camera I had mounted on the side of the house outside, screwed and plugged this one in using the existing mount and wire and was done. As for the positives, I really like the wider angle this offers. I see way more than I previously did with my older model and with less "fish eye" distortion too. Going to 1080p up from 720p does make a pretty significant difference. Although the 720p model was pretty clear considering overall, the 1080p really helps most for nighttime video. Combined with the spotlight that allows for color video you get a good picture at night. Daytime video is great and indeed captures a crisp and clear picture. Things aren't perfect though. I feel the spotlight is a bit weak. I thought it would be brighter on the outside and as for the video feed itself, I had to turn the camera brightness all the way up to really see anything at night and even then my original Arlo Pro regular night vision may have been better in terms of contrast/brightness and again, that's only 720p. The Essential Spotlight does have a more clear picture though. A trade off of using the color nighttime video feature is things have to be closer to get a more clear look. Details fade over distance quickly. Also, while the color is nice, it's not vibrant. It's a more muted color so don't expect too much on this model. It's worth noting certain previous features are no longer available. Audio detection is no longer an option and the battery is no longer removable. I don't use the audio detection and nor do I ever need to remove the battery to charge so these are non-issues to me personally. It also came with a free 3 month trial of Arlo Smart which I haven't used before until now and so far I like it although I'm still having issues receiving some notifications. I followed a tutorial and all my settings are indeed correct so hopefully it's just a bug that will eventually get fixed. I'm not sure whether or not I'll keep it but one thing that's worth mentioning is this is one of the last Arlo models that does NOT require Arlo Smart. You still get the rolling 7 day cloud storage which is all I ever need. Pros: Crisp picture, wide angle view Spotlight that allows color picture at night Still get free 7 day rolling cloud storage (Some models don't now) Cons: No audio detection rule Battery not removable
