This new Arlo Essential Spotlight camera does not give any amount of time free; it requires monthly payments to view videos. You'd think they would give last 24 hours free! Other than no free access to videos once the trial access is over, the camera itself had clear picture and worked fine.

My only issue is the range. Two of my outside cameras are unable to get a fairly strong signal. However this is more so a internet issue as opposed to a camera issue.

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It is a good camera, can connect directly to the wi-fi, have a spotlight and 2-way sound, but you cannot save any video without a paid account, what was possible with older versions even with just 7 days storage. This version have a small arm to hold the camera on the wall (I think because the inside components) that keep the camera far from the wall, while older versions has a magnetic "half sphere" that keep the camera very near the wall. It is not the best resolution but it is ok if you don't want to see small details on the image.

Main drawback is that you have to pay if you want alerts and recordings. They give you a trial subscription.

Quality could improve a bit, only inconvenience it's the 3 second recording delay, if needed it would not record instant sometimes important situations.
