It was a huge pain to install. Because the wires coming through the door frame were short, I had to use the extenders. The extenders come with two small wire nuts, which are easy enough to connect. But, because original switch was surface-mount, there was not a cavity behind it to fit the wire nuts into. The Arlo mount does not have enough space behind it, and the wire nuts prevented the Arlo device from snapping into the mount. I had to remove the wire nuts and attach the extenders to the original wiring with electric tape (or carve a hole into the door frame). The mount is so shallow even the mounting screws can keep it from snapping on the doorbell if screws are not completely tighten down and flush. I bought two of these and will be returning one.

Difficult to install and unreliable

We hired a professional to install it and it was a pain to install even for the professional, who got it to work. We then left the house not even two hours and it stopped working. I’ve been pretty unhappy with the whole Arlo product selection in general. I do not recommend.
